Quick question: Does the earth glide ability allow a creature to pass through flung boulders (or other stone weapons) unharmed, or ignore the armour bonus from stone or crystal armour?

RAW? No.

Can you play it that way? If you want to.

No. Incorporeal and Ethereal allow that.
Earth Glide is a type of movement, not a state of physical being.
If you wanna bypass armors and stuff, use a touch attack. They're easy to get.
If you want to automatically be missed by certain types of weapon materials... Um... Even Incorporeal creatures can be hit. I dunno how you would do that without nerfing the rules. Maybe try a different game?

RAW, no. I had an earth elemental character in one of my campaigns that I ran, though, and I let him avoid stone projectiles if he readied an action to do so.

Well, you COULD earth-glide through a thrown boulder...If you could Earth-glide as fast as the boulder was thrown.
