Is it possible to shut down your own account?

you could just stop posting. If you don't have that much willpower, I believe it's possible to ask WampaX to "ban" you until you wish to return. Don't quote me on that though.

Back in the days when the Boards were hosted on YaBB there was the option to delete the account, but you would have to PM WampaX to close the account.

It is best if you just stop posting. If you really want to shut down your account, we can close it for you, just send me a PM. It is practically the same as banning, except your account will show up as "Closed", not "Banned".
