Some crazy speculation....

The devil beast proves too much for the order of Elan, Varvarsaruis and Durkon and manages to slay each and every one of them and also destroys pretty much almost the ENTIRE fleet .

Meanwhile Haley, Belkar, and Celia Are attempting to to leave Greysky after the meeting with the cleric goes bad are on the run from a large group of theivers when they are either:
A. cornered and killed
B. Escape to Cliffport and get killed by the linear guild there

Fast forward a couple of years later and due to the fact the order died Xykon and Redclock managed to reach Giarad's gate only to have that destroyed by the linear guild but manage to take Kraggors gate and summon the snarl therefore using it to rule the entire world and now rule the world with a iron fist, the linear guild at the moment is mind controlled at the moment and humanity is being enslaved. However there are pockets of resitance still and about 6 members of the risitance are retreating from a attacked base when one of them finds a book or something hiddin in a secret part of the archives and they discover it tells of a "Order of the stick" and a "Order of the scribble" soon the learn what they failed to do and decide to take on the task of bringing down Xykon and Redclock by resurecting each of the members of the stick and aid them in finally eliminating xykon! However a mind controlled thog who was leading the attack upon the base overheard them and reports to redlcock who reports to xykon about the discovery and then xykon gets a idea: They can't be resurected IF THEY ARE UNDEAD! And so the chase to resurect or skelitify the order begins!"
How crazy is this idea?

On a scale of one to ten, about 1000

Well, that is pretty far out there, but not crazier than some of the other theories.

While I don't think they'll all die, I'm afraid not all of them are going to make it out alive. Belkar is a denfinite, #572 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0572.html) has already confirmed it.

Anyway, it would be interesting to see one of them become undead. Roy's body is a golem, so I do see it as a possibility.

Extremely unlikely.

Also, to nitpick...

Despite what Xykon believes, it is impossible to control the Snarl in order to enslave the world. Redcloak lied to him about this fact.

impossible to control perfectly. But assuming users are careful, makes good blackmail instrument.

It's called the Order of the Stick. They need to still be the PCs. Otherwise, it would drift into a different series.

Think of the snarl this way:

A nuclear weapon is a weapon which has a number of unwanted components. For example, radioactive fallout, collateral damage, the destruction of all desirable resources, ect.

However, when used as a blackmail "do what i say or i will use this!" weapon, it can be useful.
Similiarly, the snarl is oncontrollable, and possibly might make the area its used on unusable if there is a tear in the area. However, as a blackmail tool of mass destruction, it could be highly useful.

Not happy enough for Elan.
And we know he gets a happy ending.
Also, a minor mid quest challenge finishing off our heroes is simply bad storytelling.

Wouldn't Elan and Haley being together in a chaotic good afterlife be a happy ending?

The chances are slim but the strip does have to end sometime...

On a scale from "one" to "crazy", I'd call this one "batboop nuts".

Which is to say, like Himeko said earlier, much more reasonable than lots of the theories floating around. :smalltongue:

How crazy is this idea?

On a scale of 1 - 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (that's 1 octillion for those below the 4th grade) I'd have to say it's aproximatly 789,567,435,234,895,786,435,675,876.875289652658

That's right, LN has a formula for calculating crazy. I'd like to thank Mechanus at this time for having created the formula before insanity was even invented to quantify.

No. No, you cannot. If you try to, we will hunt you down and flay your skin while you shriek in agony.

And no, I don't think this will happen. Honestly, the Linear Guild messing with Xykon and co's plans? Gimme a break. They might be cool, but they are not nearly as high-level as Team Evil, aren't PCs or protagonists, lack an army, and don't even know much about the gates.

No, it's one thousand quadrillion (also known as one quadrilliard). Don't get me started about this, please.

Ah, Britain and America. Two countries separated by the Atlantic Ocean. I mean, a common language.

As for the theory, well, the fiend certainly looks impressive, appearances can be deceiving. And even if they're not, the Order has has a great deal of practice fleeing from things.

No it's not. It's a single encounter int he middle of said storyline. They haven't even confronted Daimyo yet.

Back to reality, kid. You don't know any pit fiends. They're not real. They're just entries in a monster book, which Rich has already made clear is not his sole source of artistic inspiration. It's big because that makes it look menacing and scary and actually kinda funny (tiny imp summoning that thing? a bit humorous).

Take your Ritalin and calm down.

I do think it's unlikely. If they journey to the "afterlife", it'll be via plane shift or something like that. There's no real reason to take this battle off-plane, though.

This contradicts Elan's "happy ending" i.e. at the end of the comic, he's gotta be alive. Death by a demon is not a happy ending, at least not for Elan or me.

Well, the Deva said that Roy was due to be raised and then killed.

I also think that V will bite the dust.

The dwarf will return home, you know how.

Belkar will survive, reform, and raise a family of quarter-orc half-halfling kids.

Elan and Haley will get their happy ending.

I think you're reading too much into what the Deva said. All mortals who get raised die again eventually - that's why they're mortals. Assuming Roy gets raised, he's as likely as Elan, Haley, or V to survive the final battle.
