Reposting from two threads ago. I had pm'ed it to Potatocubed about three weeks ago and got an "I'll get back to you" but haven't heard anything since.

I would really enjoy a custom avatar of Charik, but there's no time pressure (days, weeks, months, whatever). Description:
Large Male Elf with acquired traits of some savage races, in particular an elongated snout (complete with bite attack) similar to that of Lizardfolk. Green skin with ritual scarring. Barbarian class. Important equipment: amber greatsword, red dragonhide armor, cloak (of flying). Prefered pose (though not essential): ready to sunder opponent's weapon.

I've seen examples of OotS-style characters with snouts by Adghar and Jannex (as opposed to just lizardfolk), but i'm not particular.

Wow, that was a fast response, well the avatar I'm using right now is made by me, but other than that, all my other work I forgot to scale down to 117x117, I was making some more, I'll try to post it up here tonight.

I made a friend's LG character, an undead hunter, which looked pretty cool, but the hardest part was the skulls :-/

For Elizabeth, make the hand smaller and add some hair. (I haven't seen the most recent movie, though. Maybe she is bald in it.)

I think the position of the elbow is okay; I personally don't think it needs more of a curve.

BTW, I wouldn't have commented if The Bard hadn't so I guess that's a good thing!

Ah, good old Yuki. She's a character from http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=6430. A good show that's pretty crazy. Check around youtube to get some idea of it I guess. Though.. it might not be best to wiki it/you tube it to avoid spoilers. Ah well. Still, good stuff and I am mucho happy for the avatar.

If their skin is a special color, add that: tanned skin (barbarian, outdoors a lot)
Hair color: Burgundy, closer to brown than red
Race: Human
Class: 1 lvl Barbarian / 3 lvls Dragon Shaman
Pose you would like your avatar to be in: If possible, standing facing forward with longsword point down in front and both hands resting on the pommel of the hilt. Maybe cape flowing to one side or the other? Not superman, just kinda like a wind was blowing to one direction and pushing the cape that way. Shield strapped to arm, doesn't have to be showing dragon on it, but if it works, that's cool.

The point of the image is to replace the "currently playing" image in my signature with an up to date one.
I am currently DM'ing a campaign together with Chris and I would like the image to portray us being DM's

The idea I have is us sitting next to each other and I am sort of made of fluffy teddybear stuff (Because I usually write all the flavour) and Chris looking like something crunchy (?).

You can stay as normal or get as wacko as you like, the only reqeust is that it is somehow clear that one does the fluff and the other the crunch.

Is it possible to give him a grin instead of just the smile? Like a hint of teeth behind it. He's fairly friendly and usually is willing to laugh or has a grin to enjoy the world. Hello, I'd like to make an avvie request if anyone's interested. It's for a human female Dread Necromancer I'm playing in a pbp game here. Basics are that she'd have very pale skin and green eyes, and would have a vacant looking expression with a slight smile. Hello, I'd like to make an avvie request if anyone's interested. It's for a human female Dread Necromancer I'm playing in a pbp game here. Basics are that she'd have very pale skin and green eyes, and would have a vacant looking expression with a slight smile. She'd have black, sorta tangled and unkept hair, and be wearing a long modest black dress with a grey cloak. She'd also have a belt with her spell component's bag on it if possible. I'd like her to be cradling a skull in one arm and sorta be petting it with her other hand if possible. Thanks if anyone'd be willing to do this.

Well, Beleth, for having only been making avatars you're doing awesomely. I think you, Ink and probably Verra are the only ones who I can think of at the moment who have special talent for it. Usually takes everyone a few (many in some cases including mine) tries to get good. :)

In case anyone was considering accusing me of doing something that's already been done, I would like to point out that these are, in fact, echidnas, and nor are they nearly as cute as the one already made.

Squishycube: I've thought of 3 ways I can make one or the other more prominent: thoughtbubbles indicating one is actively hinking about something; facing one from directly behind the other; or looking over the shoulder of one at what they're doing. The former would of course be easiest, but I can have a go at one of the others. Which would you prefer, or did you have something else in mind? Also, it's a bastard trying to change Crunchy's colours. What scheme would you like?

Thanks. He's not a tribal guy actually, he's a game character called the Nameless One. If I remember correctly his story is that his body is immortal so everytime he's killed his mind dies and wakes up again in the same body.. which is why he's covered in marks and scars. He also has this friend who's a floating skull that follows him around.

You can't mess with the album while you are not logged in as the account owner. Just take the URL of one of your images and remove the xyz.gif (the image name after the last /), or just go to your album and copy the URL in the address bar. Paste it here and that'll be the link to your album.

I have a request for an avatar. But it's a bit of a challendge.

I'm a big Planescape Campaign Setting Fan, and I would like a way to express that with my avatar. The Nameless One wasn't really what I was looking for, because I haven't played the game he's in. But what about a picture of The Lady of Pain, or Sigil, or a diagram of The Great Wheel.

I'm not picky, so if you went out and did something different, that's fine too. Just as long as it has to do with Planescape.

He doesn't need a helmet, but make him holding a white greatsword with a sun motif on the crosshilt and pommel, blade down in the ground.

Like, have a little devil be on the lower planes, and angel on the upper planes, a cog on the lawful planes, and some sort of choatic lines on the choatic planes. That would represent the philosphy of the outer planes well.

Again, you don't have to do this, but if you did, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm working on a set of avatars for this Worg PC project that's going on on the Gaming boards, and thought I'd post the newest ones here for some constructive criticism/suggestions.

First, we have Raga, Worg Barbarian/Rogue, who wears light spiked barding.

Well, guys, I think it's time for me to make a request. I'd want to put a banner of my favourite PCs in my sig and while most of time have already been made in OoTS style, there's a few missing. So that means I have 2 requests for you.

Fezim is a human enchanter. No, wait, Evil human enchanter.
Gender: Male
Hair color: He's blonde and his hair are at mid-lenght. I imagine them like Kell's (http://www.diredestiny.com/index.php?nav=links/characters.htm) in Dire Destiny (http://www.diredestiny.com/).
Class: Wizard. Enchanter, specifically.
Position: Mmmm. Lifting a glass of wine with an evil smirk would be nice.
He's usually dressed in clean dark green robes, the borders trimmed with gold.

Zichtak is an aquatic elf who spends most of his time on a ship and recently became a mutineer.
Gender: Male
Hair color: Zichtak has long and black hair, not seeing the need to cut them.
Class: Ranger, but he's level one, so this doesn't have a big influence on the picture. Only one weapon.
Position: Two good options I see here. Either he's holding a rope, hanging from the railing and looking at the ocean (with winds in his hair and all) or he's swimming in the ocean.
Zichtak has a tricorne and wears yellow clothes. Keep them even if he's swimming (just for the picture). On his back is a trident but there's no need to put it.

Anyone got any tips for working with AI? Is there any easy way out of having to overlap two lines ie: body and head? They're always thicker and don't look right. :-/

I've FINALLY figured out how to make OotS avatars with Inkscape. And they ain't half bad.

The bad:
I have no idea how to change size and keep the same proportions, while still getting an exact size.

The ugly:
I have no idea how to convert an inkscape file smoothly to a png or jpeg (I do NOT want to use screenshots for this).

Help?

I think Inkscape can export PNG and JPG.

Use Paint.NET for resizing/cropping/transparency/etc.

First: Rather than resizing in inkscape, before you begin creating your avatar press Ctrl+Shift+D and set the page size to 117x117px create your avatar in that space. Save. Go to File -> Export Bitmap Choose "Page" at the top

you now have a .png of your avatar.

Depends on the style you're after of course, but I'd make them a little sort of lumpy, with rounder ends.

Some Suggestions:

1) Thicken your lines a bit, a 2 or a 3 tends to do nicely
2) The background is transparent in .pngs for users of firefox, and in .gifs for users of IE, I'm not sure how to export .gifs in Inkscape, sorry.

Good idea. :) There's one more (quick) thing I'd like. I think the sky should be transparent. First because the picture is extremely blue at the moment and second because it's going to be part of a banner, so it'll keep some kind of continuity.

My players have been (mostly) wonderful to me, even chipping in to buying me two D&D hardbacks. I want to give them something of a "parting gift." They already own their own minis (and I've painted half of those), so I was thinking of avatar-style character sketches. You know Were Sandwhich: There are extensive tutorials IN inkscape. They're really helpful. Up in the "Help" file under tutorials.

They taught me some new things.

Hel, shouldn;t your avatar be... you know... Hel? Like, half-living-half dead godess of Niflheim, daughter of Loki, sister of Fenrir and Jormungandr and all that? The current one looks kind of like an ebony-skinned godess with red eyes and hair dressed in black and weilding a sword. I am confused.

Anyway, I require a new avatar. I recently contracted Lycanthropy in The Town, and I need a wererat avvie for my time in hybrid form.

A wererat in hybrid form, preferably with grey fur. A veil over the face in a fashion similar to my current avatar, as well as the cloak and daggers. Beyond that, any artistic liscense taken is generally acceptable.

to make your avatar look more like rich's then i suggest making the entire body larger. Bigger body clothes/head proportions, and less on the sleeves....
I donno why I didn't make him opaque... I made the fire elemental like this... so I figured why not make the earth one too...

wonderfully done! I like the pose! A bigger head and thinner body gives oots their characteristic form... besides his eyes looking to be about the same size... it looks really great!

Thats a really cool avatar there!

Couple suggestions though:

Maybe should make the book a bit thicker, like a grimoire or something.

Also, the eyes, to be properly OOTish, generally aren't quite equal in size.

Both of you commented on the eyes. I like to leave them the same size as a way of adding my own twist to the general OotS style. It's only a minor think, but I like it. I used to make the heads of my drawings elliptical instead of circular as a way of making my drawings unique, but I've since switched to using circles.

I require a new avatar. I recently contracted Lycanthropy in The Town, and I need a wererat avvie for my time in hybrid form.

A wererat in hybrid form, preferably with grey fur. A veil over the face in a fashion similar to my current avatar, as well as the cloak and daggers. Beyond that, any artistic liscense taken is generally acceptable.

If anyone feels bored: Elf sorcerer/rogue. Long, shaggy brown hair and green eyes. Wears dark green robes with gold trim (in some sort of pattern, be creative) and a dark red cloak also with gold trim. Gnarly old wooden staff with some sort of gold rune type things eched into it. Also a raven familiar flapping next to her. Thankee.
