Ack! Masterwork Gear! Starting wealth! How can I stand against such a seasoned foe!

Through roughly 3 natural 20's and maximum rolls on damage dice! Hoo hah!

I have no purchases. Do you? Wanna get this party started?

I think I have 1. One sec.

EDIT: Yes, a 20 pound chunk of firewood. 1 cp.

EDIT2: In honor of your prowess, I have changed my deity. Yea, verily.

*Looks at opponent's sheet*
Heh, Froy as a dei--
Aw feck. A Fell Drain Sonic Snapper. Have you no shame?!

Alright...
Start in M25 with one (lit) torch and one MASTERWORK PITCHFORK drawn.
Move to M19, attempt to jump and accelerate-climb to L19, move as close to I17 as possible, and drop to the ground (And holy hell I actually have ranks in jump & climb!).

[roll0] vs DC minimum of 12, maximum of 40.
[roll1] vs DC I dunno, 15?

Messed up rolls...

Messed up again, curses!

[roll0] - Enough to clear 5 whole feet! Ref check needed on whether or not 5 feet is enough.
[roll1] - Enough to leave me hanging on the ledge as open to attack as a barrel in a pond.

Assuming I clear the distance with that jump, then I17 is easily reachable.
Alright, got it this time. But Ref check needed before it's your turn.

Talic
2008-08-20, 02:46 AM
Actually, I'm a Fell Drain Magic Missiler. Sonic Snap is a fallback for people with the Shield spell.

But I'ma try to do this without Fell drain.

Done? k.

Because I'm bored...

Er... Retired Ref Bitz?

Chilli

Lesse, you jump at there, trying to grab there... let's say... from 11 feet to 19 feet. That's an eight foot jump, five of which you leaped and the rest gained from natural reach. Judging from intuition, you're barely low enough to stay out of Stewie's LoS.

Talic

Assuming that means I'm good to go...

Stewie! Round 1.

Start in N2, Firewood in hand.

Move: to V3.
Free: Drop firewood in adjacent Square (W2).
Swift: Activate Travel devotion.
Move: to W11.

Reactive Spot for this round: [roll0]

Reactive Spot for his next turn: [roll1]
Reactive Listen for his next turn: [roll2]

Let me know if I gain LOS during this move, I'll amend movement if I get it.

Done. Need LOS. Will fetch.

Stats:
Location: W11
HP: 9
AC: 13 (+3 dex)
In Hand: Nothing.
Effects: Travel Devotion 1/10.

Spells: 5/4
Essentia Pool: 2 (not invested)

Misc: Firewood in W2, floating.

I'm going to have to trump Bitz's intuition with my mathamagic.

LoS is established at the end of Froy's turn.

Froy is hanging, yes hanging, from the edge of L19 (occupying M19).

Stewie starts in N2 with firewood, yes firewood, in hand.

This puts us at the beginning of Stewie's first turn.

Talic

In that case, Woo!

Lemme see how this'll work out.

Stewie Round 1!

Free: Drop Firewood in adjacent square (O1).
Standard: Cast Magic Missile, Targeting Froy. Damage: [roll0]
(factoring up to 15' elevation, you're 100 feet from me, range of MM is 110)
Swift: Activate Travel Devotion.
Free: 5 foot step to N3.

Done.

Stats:Location: N3.
HP: 9
AC: 13 (+3 dex)
In Hand: Nothing.
Effects: Travel Devotion 1/10.

Spells: 5/4 per day, 5/3 currently
Essentia Pool: 2 (not invested)

Misc: Firewood in O1.

Yay, one hit point left!

Of course, now I'm rightly screwed. So! Abandon plan Wait-on-top-of-cliff-and-jump-down-screaming-Lalalala! and instigate plan Quick-Hide-Right-Now.
Besides, since Bitz said it's an 8-foot-high ledge, I don't suppose he'd be hanging from it so much as standing on firm ground with his hands on the ledge.

But anyway, Froy 'drops' from the ledge and moves directly east, disappearing behind O19/P19...
End movement at Q19.
Ready action to throw a (lit) torch at Stewie if he comes within sight (and cover be damned).

Talic
2008-08-20, 03:00 PM
Stewie 2!

Swift: Move from N3 to H7
Move: H7 to F14
Move F14 to G17, then pull myself up to H17 (5 foot raise, counts as 10' move), continue to H15.

Done. LOS would be good.

Stats:Location: H15
HP: 9
AC: 13 (+3 dex)
In Hand: Nothing.
Effects: Travel Devotion 2/10.

Spells: 5/4
Essentia Pool: 2 (not invested)

Misc: Firewood in W2, floating.

Have no fear, Initiate Ref is Here! (Be Very Afraid)

Refs:
Drew it out on Paint, as far as I can see, neither gains LoS at any point. The only really dubious point was at H 17, but I drew the line and it hit the wall.

Froy:
No LoS.

Stewie:
No LoS.

I hope I got this one right...

EDIT: It is Froys turn, I believe.

Stewie Round 3!

Swift: move from H15 to K9, By way of H10.

Rest of turn... Well Poo. I seem to be waiting for the water to drive him up like a rat. He's somewhere on that opposite wall, I''d wager. Oh well, Round 8 to 9, this'll be over.

Ready action: Fire Magic Missile on LOE.

Done.

Same ready action as before - throw torch if LoS

Oh, and in addition to that, shout openly, "Polo!" You know, as in Marco Polo.

Talic

Fair enough.

Stewie! round 4.

Free: Yell "Marco" (Listen DC -10, +1 per 10 feet of distance from K9)

Swift: Move to K11
Ready: Cast Magic missile on LOS. Not gonna add "within 110 feet", as the entire board is within 110 feet.

Done.

Move to U10, same readied action as earlier (throw torch if LoS confirmed).
This would put me within LoS of Stewie if he happened to be in K9 at this point. Likely as not he's got another magic missile readied to thwack me with, but I say bring it on.

Talic

Round 5...

No more than 3 rounds now, I think.

If he established LOS, then Magic Missile. [roll0]

If not, Maintain Readied action.

Done, pending LOS.

EDIT: Removed spoilers, for opponent's view.

K11 actually, but consider yourself thwacked, for 3 damage.

If ya don't have anything, it looks like the readied action from my Marco round got you.

The_Chilli_God
2008-08-21, 02:23 PM
It's questionable... Whether LoS is actually obtained from K11 to U10. If we assume that the dark red patch in between us is perfectly flat at 20 feet, than yah, you got me. If, on the other hand, S10 is more than about 22 feet above ground level, then LoS is not established.

I'd upload an image to demonstrate, but photobucket is kicking my ass more than usual today.

I said LoS was established from K9 to U10 because the line was able to pass by that dark red patch entirely.

Talic
2008-08-21, 02:33 PM
I'll give you no LOS.

I shall do as I intended before. Remain in my square.

Ready an action: Same as before. Magic Missile on LOS.

Yell: Either the rising water will get you, Bond, or I will! MUAH HAHAHAHA!

Now I just need an overly furry cat to pet.

The_Chilli_God
2008-08-21, 02:46 PM
Y'know... I actually realized the futility of that argument when I was typing it. I'm that pedantic.

Also, note to self: Bring a strawman with the exact likeness of Froy to the next match. :smalltongue:

Run to P9 and throw torch if I can.

[roll0]
[roll1] +1 fire.

Talic
2008-08-21, 02:52 PM
Take readied action on LOS gain. [roll0]

Edit: Ever consider having a club to throw?

They're non-improvised for throwing and everything, and you're proficient to boot!

The_Chilli_God
2008-08-21, 02:53 PM
Blarg, unconsciousness'd.

Good game, and this one lasted more than one page! It's a first!

...A club? I... I dunno, I never really thought about being proficient with something...

Talic
2008-08-21, 02:55 PM
Good game to you as well. I don't know why, but for some reason, I was absolutely paranoid of a crit torch for max damage dropping me.

The_Chilli_God
2008-08-21, 02:56 PM
Nah, Froy's been rolling exceptionally normal rolls lately. Nothing like the craziness of his first few matches.

I suppose I'd have to buy a new club everytime I try to set the one I have on fire, though. But wait! They're free! I'm buying a MILLION of them!

Talic
2008-08-21, 03:00 PM
It happened with me vs chilepepper in the finals of his breath weaponer vs my grappler. I pretty much maxed every roll in the post.

I figured death by commoner was what karma was going to use to knock me down a peg.

A million clubs, eh?

That gives me an idea.

The_Chilli_God
2008-08-21, 03:03 PM
It gave me an idea as well. And I'm lol'ing because of it.

Buy a million clubs... Take them all into the arena with you... And then it's just a wait until someone runs out of breath because of all the clubs.

2008-08-21, 03:13 PM
