So I'm letting my friend borrow my laptap tomorrow, and for some reason it saves every single thing I've searched for, and it appears as you type into the search bar. Is there anyway I can turn off this function altogether/delete my searching history?

Uhm... what browser are you using? (Or just search through Options/Settings? 9.9)

If you use Firefox, then just double-click the box you type in so that the search history is shown. Put your mouse over the first one, and hold "delete" down for as long as it takes.

Internet Explorer, it should be in tools>options. You're looking for a way to clear Autocomplete, can't remember where it is seeing as I refuse to use that browser from home these days.

Ummm...uhhh. Because. I just do.

Anyway, I found it, it was under tools, option, content then autocomplete for anyone interested. Thanks for the help team.

Do people actually look at the history in other people's browsers?

Oh yeah, it can lead to a lot of hilarity.

I remember finding about 20 different searches for 2 girls 1 cup in my freind's firefox.

I'm always curious what people search for.
And then I lose faith in humanity.
Lousy humanity. >.>

What I do is to double click on the box where you type your search bit, and all the things I've searched for pop up. Then, you just delete them when they're highlighted, that's what I do. Although, I just delete them for neatness sake, I've never needed to delete stuff to stop people seeing them. That being said, I check other peoples search bits...I never told my aunty what her fiancee looks up...

It's good to learn these things beforehand. I like to cover my tracks. Not just because I'm paranoid, kinda out of respect for others.

Then again nowadays I'm the only human being that uses my computer. Which is good.

Seconded. My computer is MINE. I don't even let other people into the room it's in on a regular basis.

for a while, my room mate didn't have a working internet connection on his laptop so he used mine to check his email and stuff. out of boredom i created a folder in my documents called "my porn" and i filled it with about 270mbs of pictures and videos of trees and i further divided the directory into subsets like tree on tree, seedlings, exotics, conifers etc.

now he never told me that he looked at my stash of tree porn, but one of his friends asked me if i was a dendrophiliac.

That is brilliant.

Now excuse me while I lie down on the floor and make a rolling motion while laughing uncontrollably.

I, by complete accident, came upon some... really terrible search keywords in a family friends saved google search bar. I started to type something in and it shows you the previous searches starting with whatever you put in... yeah, I'd pretty much blocked that out until I came into this topic.

Oh also, stop looking at porn.

Oh man, I am so going to do that. Every time my friends come over they try to find stuff on my laptop!

Girls. I'd go into more detail, but it could be violating forum rules...I guess there could be worse things he could've been looking up.

Anyhoo, those two are getting married next year...
