View Full Version : Dawn of Tyrath [Play Thread]

And the DII EMME thought, and the gods were. And the DII EMME thought again, and the world was, and the DII EMME spake, and the world was called TYRATH. And the DII EMME spake again, and bade the gods go to TYRATH, and shape it as they saw fit, except for that part which the DII EMME set aside for himself.

So, here's the game thread, everybody. As the author/gamemaster who uses this world, I have decided that I will go last in the first round. The rest of you need to roll to see who goes first this round: 2d6, highest wins.

Tyrath as it stands now (area outlined in red is my private area, that only I can alter):

Roll to see who goes first, and then I'll email them the .svg of the map.

It has begun.

Sorry for the wait, I forgot all about this game.

[roll0]

EDIT: Huh. And in the event of a tie?

Ummm...

Each of you roll a d20.

Aye aye, cap'n. [roll0]

Will do.

Ok. Of the two of you, Meynolds will go first.

Now we're just waiting for the 6th prime.

Meynolds

Used all 6 points to add ~2in of forest.

I enlarged the key a bit to make it easier to use.

Hopefully, my attaching the svg file and sending it to Osari went off without a hitch.

Spent 3 of my 6 points on a Shape Land; I made a 1" in diameter island. Holding onto the remaining 3 points for next turn.

Please post a .png version of the map, too.

I'm afraid I don't know how, since a simple cut/paste doesn't do it.

Meynolds
2008-08-28, 07:10 PM
In Inkscape: File -> Export Bitmap, select the 'drawing' tab -> OK.

Or just take a screenshot of it. Either way works.

dyslexicfaser
2008-08-28, 07:21 PM
And once I export it into a .png file? Then what?

EDIT: I'm assuming it's not Insert Image, since that says it needs a url?

Meynolds
2008-08-28, 07:28 PM
Use Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/) or a similar website (Such as Imageshack (http://imageshack.us/)) to upload it and copy the URL from there.

dyslexicfaser
2008-08-28, 10:51 PM
No dice, sorry. Photobucket says both .svg and .png are 'nvalid file type'.

Meynolds
2008-08-28, 11:01 PM
.png works fine for me. All my avatars that I upload are that. Do you have any kind of image editing software on your computer (Such as Photoshop)? If you do, open it with that and save it as a .gif, .jpg or any other format that works for Photobucket.

I just checked Photobucket and it should support .png files. The full list: gif, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp.

Points (2d6=4) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1711860/)

Made some clarification to my private section (made it clear that there is forest in a particular spot)

Also, altered about 1" of land.

I forgot to roll for round two: [roll0]

[roll0]

Me too. It's your turn, right Meynold?

EDIT: So, 4 plus the 3 I had left over from last turn, plus 1 for starting the turn with less than 5 points: 8 total.

Meynolds

I'll have a new map up tomorrow and email it to dyslexicfaser. I'm a bit too tired to do it right now.

Meynolds

Sorry for the delay, last minute summer homework bogged me down.

http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l11/Meynolds/MiscOrOther/DoT2.png

Enlarged the forest by an estimated 1 inch. Likely slightly more though.

Got the photobucket thing working - for now, at least.

6 pts to form a 2" island above the first. 2 pts left in reserve.

Rolling for next round: [roll0]

Just rolling at the moment; the map will come later today.

2d6 2=8 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1720157/) ('cause I had 1 point left after my last turn, plus 1 for having <4...)

Meynolds
2008-09-04, 05:17 PM
Rolling for the next round: [roll0] (2 left from last round, two rounds in a row having less than 5 at the end of the round).

Lord Iames Osari
2008-09-07, 06:01 PM
Okay, here's the map. Sorry it took me so long, guys.

Basically i spent 6 points to extend the hills beyond my private zone and turned them into mountains again, leaving me with 2 points, a +2 bonus, for a net of +4 points for next round.

Meynolds

Don't worry about it, your Lordship.

I'll post something within an hour after pulling myself away from Advance Wars. Which is very addicting.

http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l11/Meynolds/MiscOrOther/DoT3.png

Expanded the forest about 3in for 9 points, leaving me with 4. Add in the +3 cumulative bonus for having <5 points, and I get +7 points for the next round. Roll in next post.

Points for Round 4: [roll0]

Wow, so sorry for the incredibly long wait, guys. Almost two weeks? That's ridiculous. Hopefully my photobucket and everything is working okay.

Beginning with 11pts: Gave the small island 1" of forest (3pts), the large island 1" of mountains (3pts) and then altered the weather in the northwest 1" into snowy tundra (3pts). 2 pts left over.

[roll0] (3 bonus pts, 2 left over)

Did the tutorial I linked you to help?

dyslexicfaser
2008-09-26, 02:32 AM
Somewhat. I just browsed through it, so it's all still a bit Greek to me. I'll need to go over it more thoroughly when school isn't hitting me quite so hard.

Lord Iames Osari
2008-09-26, 05:09 PM
*nod* I should have something up here by Sunday, if not sooner.

Lord Iames Osari
2008-09-29, 11:22 PM
2d6 4=13 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1749896/)

I spend 12 points expand the mountain range, leaving me with 1 left over, and a +3 for next round, which is another +4.

Meynolds

I have not yet received a map, and thus have nothing further to post.

Lord Iames Osari
2008-10-12, 08:49 PM
I swear I sent you an email...

Yup. The email with the attached file appears shows up as sent.

Meynolds
2008-10-12, 09:02 PM
The last e-mail I have from you dates to early September. Try sending it again.

Lord Iames Osari
2008-10-12, 09:04 PM
Okay, I just sent it off to [email protected].

Meynolds
2008-10-12, 09:17 PM
EDIT: Nevermind, gmail was marking your mail as spam.

Meynolds
2008-10-14, 03:02 PM
Sorry for the delay, yesterday was very busy for me.

Use 12 points to add to the forest and add a volcano.

http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l11/Meynolds/MiscOrOther/DoT4.png

I'll send an e-mail later today.

Lord Iames Osari
2008-10-14, 03:15 PM
Wow.

Is that, uh, to scale?

Meynolds
2008-10-14, 04:24 PM
By no means. Unless everyone in your world are halflings, then it might seem that way. :smalltongue:

I drew it large to make sure it was clearly a volcano.

Meynolds
2008-10-23, 06:56 PM
I dislike double posting, but I feel it has been long enough to warrant a bump.

Lord Iames Osari
2008-10-23, 07:16 PM
Yeah. You didn't forget to send the email to dyslexic, did you?

Meynolds
2008-10-25, 03:00 PM
I did not forget.

Lord Iames Osari
2008-10-25, 03:04 PM
All right, I'll go bother him.

Lord Iames Osari
2008-11-06, 08:19 PM
*sigh* Dyslexic isn't interested in playing anymore, apparently. I'll go bump the recruiting thread again, and send me the file in the meantime.

Meynolds
2008-11-08, 08:19 PM
I sent the map a couple of minutes ago.

Lord Iames Osari
2008-11-20, 04:32 AM
*sigh* I'm sorry, I'm having no luck finding time to actually start drawing. :smallfrown: And with only the two of us, I'm not sure it's worth continuing. So, game is cancelled.
