Eye of the Banished Prince (Major Artifact)
A small spherical ruby. In the center lies a diamond shaped saphire, giving the appearance of the eye of a cat. Upon command, this eye replaces the left eye of the owner. The owner of this item may, at will, inflict ultimate command over a target creature. The spell functions similar to Geas with a DC 30 will save to ignore the effects except that the subject will carry out it's orders regardless of whether or not it puts them in mortal danger (i.e. commanding the creature to die would result in it finding the quickest method of suicide.) The Geas has an unlimited duration but does not inflict any penalties or damage should the commanded creature be prevented from fufilling the task. There are some a few major stipulations however.
1. The user must be able to make eye contact with the target creature. A mirror can be used to direct the spell so long as the user and target can see each other's eyes. This also means that the Eye cannot affect a blind creature.
2. The target must be physically capable of performing the command. for example, commanding a man to turn himself into a dragon would instantly fail unless that person has the means to do so.
3. The user must speak the command in a language that the target understands. If the target has an intelligence of less than 3, the eye has no effect.
4. The user can only effect a specific target once and only once. However, if the eye were to fall into the possession of someone else, a previously Geased creature could be commanded again.
5. The target, assuming all other conditions are met, will follow vague commands to the best of their understanding. For instance, if you tell the target to eat, they will eat what they want.
After each use of the eye, the user must make a DC 20 Will save or lose control of the Eye for 24 hours. If the eye is used again within 8 hours of succeeding it's will save, the user must make the save again adding 1 to the DC. If the eye is not used for 8 hours, the DC is reset. When the eye is out of control, its power will be constantly active. Any commanding statement issued by the owner will be automatically issued to all able targets in eye contact. Covering the eye can prevent this. The eye can only be removed by cutting it out of the eye socket. Doing this does not regenerate the original eye.
