Empress Ching Xi Yang of the Deep Elven Kingdom(LG, 25 wizard) leads the drow from their violent roots into a new era of morality. Drow males are no longer second class citizens, they are as much a part of the Enlightened Empire's life as any human male in other lands.
A violent revolution broke out by the male drow over three centuries ago from constant promises of freedom by opposing Matriarchs of many different houses. The Empire of Tien Lung attacked the Underworld while the fighting broke out much worse than it ever has through infighting. At the same time, the illithid empire assaulted the Underworld for drow slaves. But STILL the Drow cities worshiping the Spider Queen were not doomed, the drider army, and extremely spartan drow soldiers managed to almost stalemate the Tien Lung and mind flayer armies, until the final straw that broke the camel's back started to descend.
A dwarven army, leading a major assault on the drow, attempted to eradicate the threat from the Underworld. Combined assault from four different armies, and a new, secret organization deciding to rise from the societal upheavel to lead the drow males into a glorious new independance, shattered nearly the entire empire into small pieces. A young, drow witch sympathetic to the New Order was chosen to lead the warriors into the new age.

Ching Xi is barely over 300 years old. Many drow can still remember what life was like under the old regime. Thus, worship of the Spider Queen is illegal, punishable by a merciful quick death. Ching Xi has the most powerful regular army in the world, with an army somewhat more than three times larger than the second largest army in the world. The Empress, Ching Xi, possesses an extreme charismatic charm that keeps her very popular.
The ideals of Ching Xi are based explicity on Freedom and righteousness. The Empire is a champion of the Lawful Good alignment, and has swalled tyrannies into its territory for three centuries, becoming a military power. Ching Xi is an extremely prosperous nation, limited severely economically because of its refusal to impliment magi-tech. The capital, Yang City, is the only exception in the Empire because of this.
Ching Xi became culturally oriental through the invasion of the Tien Lung empire. The Emperor died of old age at 117 years old, leaving the empire to withdraw troops from Ching Xi. Almost overnight they became an independant nation. Ching Xi made use of their inbred martial natures to overcome all obstacles in their way. Drow monasteries famous throughout the world for their warrior monks dot the landscape.
