I'm looking for a Tomb of Horrors-esque very difficult dungeon. I've already run the ToH, and it was a lot of fun (made for a great light-hearted game where the players were very unattached to their characters), so I'm looking for something that will be similar. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I suppose, if you're willing to blow a big wad of cash on it, you could pick up World's Largest Dungeon. From what i've heard, it's a pretty nasty customer

Expedition to Castle Ravenloft?

Take a CoC module, restat everything as 10+ over the party CR, and see what happens?

I don't know if you could find it (or if you like epic) but The quicksilver hourglass is fairly difficult.

Put some beefed up monsters into the Temple of Elemental Evil. That wire room... was fun, but not for the characters. :smalltongue:

What level are you looking for? Any of these adventures (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/oa/20030530b) would be suitable, as long as they are ~2 levels above your average party level.

We don't go to ravenloft anymore.

That said, I reccomend making your own, custom statted to hate the players.

shadow_archmagi has a point.

Get your players to create their characters beforehand, then request the character sheets. Find every little thing they could be missing (weaknesses of the cleric to kill off the healing? something resistant to all the mage's spells that don't suck?). Find traps and things that specifically attack your weaknesses. Cleric have no religious knowledge? Spring a special religious trap. Find some way to blind the Rogue. Just make sure it attacks them for everything they're worth.

Box set right?

Probably the Undermountain Box Sets and supplements or the Ruins of Myth Drannor.

Free Undermountain the Lost Level and Maddgoth's Castle:

Vecna Lives killed the Circle of Eight.

Don't forget to add the Mirrors of Opposition to the dungeon.

Seconded - I've played it. One of my favourite characters came out of it! Having said that we didn't get to far in becuase the party seemed to be made up of really rather disturbed people who just played mind games with the dim witted half orc (me) and then played seemed to fizzle out but it was hard and was fun!

I disliked it severly. Long pointless dungeon crawl that had no real challenge except for lack of towns.
