Pre-requisites: Caster Level 11, Craft Wonderous Item, must create a phalactory.*

This 'Prestige Class' is unlike other prestige classes, in that, over four levels, it gives no extra hit dice, nor an increase to BAB or to saves. Only a spellcaster can take it, but it doesn't increase spellcasting. And once you take your first level, you must take the rest consecutively. This is a big, life-altering decision. In fact, tecnically speaking, it's a life-ending decision, becoming a Lich...

Undead: you gain the undead type.

Natural Armour Bonus: At each level, a Lich receives a bonus to it's natural armour score (a creature which previously had no natural armour is considered to have +0). These bonuses are not cumulative.

Turn Resistance: At each level, a lich becomes harder than a normal undead when an enemy cleric attempts to turn or rebuke him.

Skill Bonus: These represent a racial skill bonus to: hide, listen, move silently, search, sense motice and spot.

Fear Aura: Every creature within the aura with 5 HD or less comes under the effect of a fear spell, at the Liches Caster Level. A Will save of DC (10+ 1/2 the liches HD + the liches charisma modifier) negates the effect. A Creature who suceeds on its save cannot be affected by the same Liches fear aura for 24 hours.

Touch Attack: A lich has a touch attack that it can use once per round. If the base creature can use weapons, the lich retains this ability. A creature with natural weapons retains those natural weapons, and can add the bonus to one natural attack per round (the extra damage must be called before the attack roll is made, if the attack misses, the attempt is wasted.)

Ability Boost: At first, second, and third level, a Lich chooses either INT, WIS or CHA to give a +2 racial bonus to. A Lich may not select the same ability more than once, and by third level has received the +2 to each mental stat.

Paralyzing Touch: At fourth level, a Lich gains a paralyzing touch: Any living creature a lich hits with its touch attack must succeed on a Fortitude save or be permanently paralyzed. Remove paralysis or any spell that can remove a curse can free the victim (see the bestow curse spell description). The effect cannot be dispelled. Anyone paralyzed by a lich seems dead, though a DC 20 Spot check or a DC 15 Heal check reveals that the victim is still alive..

Spoilered Content stolen copied from D20srd.org:
* An integral part of becoming a lich is creating a magic phylactery in which the character stores its life force. As a rule, the only way to get rid of a lich for sure is to destroy its phylactery. Unless its phylactery is located and destroyed, a lich reappears 1d10 days after its apparent death.

Each lich must make its own phylactery, which requires the Craft Wondrous Item feat. The character must be able to cast spells and have a caster level of 11th or higher. The phylactery costs 120,000 gp and 4,800 XP to create and has a caster level equal to that of its creator at the time of creation.

The most common form of phylactery is a sealed metal box containing strips of parchment on which magical phrases have been transcribed. The box is Tiny and has 40 hit points, hardness 20, and a break DC of 40.

Other forms of phylacteries can exist, such as rings, amulets, or similar items.

So...what do we think? I'm not much of a homebrewer, but it just occured to me today to make this.
