View Full Version : Convoluted PRC Skill Breaker Reincarnation

A reincarnated creature recalls the majority of its former life and form. It retains any class abilities, feats, or skill ranks it formerly possessed. Its class, base attack bonus, base save bonuses, and hit points are unchanged.

Reincarnation can break PRC entry Skill and BAB requirements by taking a few or more reincarnations. Mostly interesting as a theoretical build approach by taking several Deaths with Reincarnation.

I don't quite get what you're going for here. Unless you mean starting as human then bein reincarnated as an elf to more easily get into an elf-only prestige class with that one extra skill point.

Mostly really only applies to builds. My Human PC Sorcerer - 1 was originally a Dragonwrought Kobold Battle Sorcerer - 6 who had undergone the Rituals and possessed Epic feats.

The first level Human has +4 BAB, casts as a Sorcerer -2 with the skill ranks of the Sorcerer - 6 (Skill Ranks up to 9).

Skill ranks minimums are one of the hardest PRC entry requirements to break along with BAB requirements.

Cheesy, I like it:

Exploiting the loophole in the RAW that reincarnate doesn't state the level reduction in the same terms as the raise dead spell:

from srd Raise Dead (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/raiseDead.htm):
Coming back from the dead is an ordeal. The subject of the spell loses one level (or 1 Hit Die) when it is raised, just as if it had lost a level or a Hit Die to an energy-draining creature.

from srd Reincarnate (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/reincarnate.htm):
A reincarnated creature recalls the majority of its former life and form. It retains any class abilities, feats, or skill ranks it formerly possessed. Its class, base attack bonus, base save bonuses, and hit points are unchanged. Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution scores depend partly on the new body. First eliminate the subjectís racial adjustments (since it is no longer of his previous race) and then apply the adjustments found below to its remaining ability scores. The subjectís level (or Hit Dice) is reduced by 1.

build a equivalent to a 12th level character:

First choose how many extra feats you want to have:
lets level up to L3 (for bonus feat) then de-level to 2 losing 1/2 a level of xp. now re-level to 3. repeat until xp or cash runs out or you have enough feats.

Next lets level up to L4 (for stat bonus) then de-level to 3 losing 1/2 a level of xp. now re-level to 4. repeat until xp or cash runs out

Now you have a L3 or 4 character with godlike skills and feats and stats and BAB

Cheesy mostly useful for theoretical builds and early PRC entry into those builds things like starting out as a Factotum to get the skills and then pursue something like Ur-Priest at second level.

Could end up being one of the build bars No Reincarnation Cheese.

Wow, that's incredible cheese. You could also keep taking Fighter level 1 for the bonus feat as well as the BAB, although Rogue would be better for the skill points.

Embrace the Dark Chaos and Shun the Dark Chaos would add an interesting facet particularly with Epic Feats and a Reincarnated Dragonwrought Kobold.

Uh, I'm not sure what those feats do. Elaborate, please?

They are level 8 Transmutation and Abjuration spells from Hordes of the Abyss.

Embrace the Dark Chaos changes Feats into Abyssal Heritor Feats.

So a F-1 could have his 3 armor proficeinces and shield proficiency changed into 4 Abyssal Heritor Feat.

Shun the Dark Chaos lets you change Abyssal Heritor Feats into other Feats.

Advance another level and take something like Factotum -1 gain new feats but don't lose the old feats.

Got a Ninja during the Edit: Before anyone says that doesn't work:

http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#armorProficiencyHeavy

Special
Fighters, paladins, and clerics automatically have Armor Proficiency (heavy) as a bonus feat. They need not select it.

Spells that let you turn any feat that you have into any other feat that you meet the prerequisites for.

Incorrect. The fighter's armor proficiencies and shield proficiency are not feats, they are class features.

But you can switch out the bonus feat you get every time.

Ok, Tippy, since I've heard so much praise directed at you, take this newfound cheese and cheese up some awesome wizard build.

Okay, super cheese caster build:

Sorcerer 2
Wizard 2
Duskblade 2
bard 2
beguiler 1
abjurant champion 5

now retake abjurant champion L5 5 times over, once per caster class as your L12 using re-incarnate cheese.

gain 1 real caster level in each arcane caster class and have your effective caster level in that class = BAB. (also gain 5 feats and 5 stat increases, 5x(2+int bonus skillpoints) oh and 5 BAB, coincidentally thats 5 more effective caster level (so 15 caster level at L12))
Now lets repeat that with the PRC that gives 2 caster levels to 2 different casting classes until we get bored of 9th level spells in 3 classes and 6th level spells in 2 classes (while still being labelled as L12)
