And if you guys would stop posting like bunnies for a few hours in some of the busier threads, like the town and the comics threads, that'd be lovley. And give us fewer migraines.

Oh, it's just rather confusing... :P

Oh well, we'll get used to it!

I have to wonder if adding some of these forums are really all that nescissary

It's Ray and Rich's decision. It doesn't hurt anything to do it. Be happy that it's expanding.

Cybren

It can hurt- people might not want to look at a thread for a new race, but they're in the gaming forum and notice something that looks interesting- effectivly I expect it to cut down on views for threads.

This doesn't mean it's a bad thing. It also means that things are more organized and people will find what they need. I just have an aversion to lots of forums (might be the scrolling).

I whole-heartedly agree with Zirling, Kudos Mods!

Threw me for a loop at first as I thought I was halucinating....again. But then I realized I have been around any mushrrom patches for sometime and I was really seeing all this transpire. Though, it may take me a day or so to find things and what not. So, if you see me walking around town somewhere, looking up at the sky, just nudge me in the right direction. Thanks!

Not to be rude or anything, but how long does it really take to move a thread from a forum to another?

tape_measure
2006-07-27, 10:35 PM
It probably dpends on the activity of it. I for one am none to savvy, but i doubt it's awalk in the park with some of the SMB games and the ilk.

Jack Squat

I have a question, are the large mod assingnings (as in everyone modding most of the boards) permanant, or is that just because of all the threads that need to be moved.

I don't have a problem with this assingning, it just seemed a little odd.

Wukei

It doesn't take long to move a thread...but they're having to move hundreds of threads tonight.

tape_measure
2006-07-27, 10:41 PM
Wouildnt this be good time to dump a few off the charts?

i.e., The first 5-10 pages of the "now recruiting thread" I was meandering about and saw a very old thread that Lilly had started back in '05 for an AIM game.

I think there was a discussion here or there about it once before, but I beleive it was dismissed and dropped of all charges.

Yea, they ask us to delete our post once we've secured the amount of players we want...but not everyone listens...

Probably why everyone is a mod for everything to sorta of speed it up.......I'm feeling sorry for them tonight.

I agree with Cybren, there's something about large, branching board layouts that irks me. For me at least, I liked being able to glance and see all the forums at once. No matter though, I'm sure I'll get used to it in time.

Wukei
2006-07-27, 11:15 PM
Yea, I did like to see all the boards I visit at once (the bottom two I didn't see without scrolling) but it'll be fine this way too.

And they're doing this over the course of the week, Bookman, not just one night. Though it's still a lot of work. The most I can do to help is stay out of the threads I know they're moving.

edit:
I've just gained confirmation that the mods will be restricted back to 2-3 covering one area once this is all cleared up.

Awwwww but sometime soon they'll hopefully move everything to your own little section. :D

Yea, she's going from the most recent to the eldest comic. Which puts them in by order of her moving them. Putting the oldest on top.

Alarra is moving the Town via drawing out the oldest first and then the newer until the newest. So the newest is always on top.

Bookman
2006-07-27, 11:58 PM
Well that's good for the town but the question is will it still be just your one Arts and Crafts thread for OOTS or will there be MANY threads or what? I'm sorta suprised they didn't offer you a new mod job over that section

Yeah, I'm surprised Wukei isn't a mod ??? ? At least for this part of the transition.

Or even later.

Wukei is a vicious vicious person. You don't want her to be a mod.

It's bad enough she's in charge of the arts and crafts and IA threads!

Ah, but Ray'll admit to it. Of course, Ray is just a figment of GW's imagination. GW is really Ray. Or Ray is really GW...I get that part confused.

Anyway, GW confessed it all!

Anyways GW is Grey Watcher? And if he admitted he didn't exist doesn't that mean his post never existed? :o

Also I've decided I like the new board a lot more! It's easier....

Actually, there are several reasons for this. Arts and crafts is being merged from at least two separate forums for one, it is a lot harder to maintain quality control when merging posts from two forums. Also, some of the older posts were scanned for arts and crafts related paraphernalia and would have been mixed in.

I like the new organization, but is there a reason that the font for the boards is changing size as I go to my different threads? One PbP game of mine is normal, the other looks like it is on steroids. It is not a bad problem, and if it is just the new boards settling in to thier old grooves then fine, it does not bother me, but it seems funny. I hope it is not only my computer, it was fine yesterday!

Lilly

We haven't done a thing to the play-by-post games...

Keebler_the_Elf
2006-07-28, 11:32 AM
It is the general look of the boards. One screen of mine has normal sized font, the other is about three times larger. It only changed after I clicked a PbP game, but I can go anywhere and it is large. I closed the window and when I opened another it came back. My first post in here was on the large sized text window, this one in the small sized text window. Just odd is all.

Edit: when I right click and open a board in a new window from the home page is when it does it.

Hit your CTRL button and scroll with the mouse wheel. You'll notice that the text is magically changing size.

You might want to PM that one directly to whomever moved it (if you can figure that out). It looks like something got crossed in the move.
