Help please

ok every time I open inkscape I get a message that says

C:\Documents and Settings\Trav\Application Data\Inkscape\preferences.xml not a valid XML file, or
you don't have read permissions on it.
Inkscape will run with default settings.
New settings will not be saved

and i cant open files please help me

Did you accidentally delete part of the inkscape program? Uninstall it then reinstall it.

I get the same message (for who knows what reason, and I've never fixed it and have no issues from it), but yeah... repairing/reinstalling would probably help.
