View Full Version : Good Music For A Fight With An Alien General?

Anyway, as some of you know, I plan to make an "Alien Invasion of D&D" game someday, and as you may have guessed, they will be facing the leader of the army eventually.

At that point, said leader, Enki, reveals the reason that the reason the aliens are so intent on killing the PCs specifically, and why they seem to be able to stand up to the Nic'en (the main race of invaders) mind control is that they are part Nic'en themselves-they were created by their scientists in order to help create a more "perfect" race of humans-ie, ideal warriors for the Nic'en.

And in their fight with him, they will have to own up to the Sins of the Father (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NW9SU-whkkA&feature=related).

You keep channeling Super Robot Wars plots, I'm going to keep throwing their boss music at you.

When fighting a general, alien or human, you can never go wrong with the 1812 Overture.

The Regent from Robotech would be most fitting, methinks.

Music to fight an alien to... and no one's suggested the Amok Time theme?

(Granted, it's short, but it could always lead into another song.)

Ram it Down, Judas Priest

**** Dale, might works...depending on how evil he is. It's got to be fast adreneline fueled whatever it is.

I see alien generals listening to Pantera, whilst smoking ganj

If I were to make a suggestion I would go with the JENOVA fight song from Final Fantasy 7. It has a weird beat to it and is made for fighting to. The only problem is if you have any big Final Fantasy nerds in the group.

If you would like a free down load you can get one at:

http://www.angelfire.com/al2/coolgamemusic/ffnew.html

They also have music from a number of other games. The only problem is that the quality on some songs is not that great, but hey it’s free.

Hope this helps.

O Fortuna from Orff's Carmina Burana.

Arise ye Russian People and Battle on the Ice from Prokoviev's Alexander Nevsky.

For after the battle, while surveying the scene, Isle of the Dead by Rachmaninoff.

The first is Alfimi? Hmm, debatable, because she's so creepy.

My suggestions this time will be more generic:

Yes, you can. It's great music, but 1812 is an upbeat song, with a happy undertone to it - not really good for an epic battle, at least not until the very end when the PCs are just heaping the last few blows on the good-as-dead boss.

My suggestion, like Voshkod, is O Fortuna. It is one of the best songs ever penned for conveying a sense of the epic, in my opinion.

Alternately, look into both Neodammerung and Navras, from the Matrix Revolutions soundtrack.

Yup. Only without the mecha.

Yeah, your alien invaders' plot follows the same vague outline as the Balmarians from Super Robot Wars (on a very basic level). Also, I like Alfimi better (could just be my ATX team vs. SRX team bias), but Levi has the better BGM.

Anyway, here's an alternate suggestion:

It's like music for Space Invaders.

One Winged Angel. The Latin just makes it seem so much more ominous...

Trope? Forgive me, I don't follow... Every day, I see a new word on here I don't understand, even though I've been on here for months. >.<

Ah. So basically the trope in this case is a BBEG against whom the players stand zero chance of escaping from unraped... And One Winged Angel is the finishing touch. Makes sense...

Gotta love that site. But yeah One winged angel would be an excellent piece if it's going to go through a horrible transformation or just go super-sayan or something.
