So, now that I'm about a week into my Freshman year of college I'm fairly settled in and starting to meet people.

Anyone else on the playground new to college, and if so, where?

I'm at UMASS Amherst.

i enjoy glueing scraps of magazines and newspaper onto larger sheets of poster board to give an concrete form to an intangible concept.

I once made a collage of a panda at a disco using rubix cube squares. I called it Pandamonium.

Well, as I already bitched about in a previous thread, I'm new to college--UC Berkeley--and also just a week in.

Hey, that wasn't a clasp, it was a handcuff! What's at the end of the other one? ... Hey!

Also, it looked kinda like this.http://img402.imageshack.us/my.php?image=688014895lib9.jpg

That was a rather unfortunate spelling mistake to make in the thread title. I also thought it was about the art form of 'collage'.

Oh well, OP: have a wonderful time. It will be brilliant. You will make loads of friends, and hopefully you'll learn to proof-read while you're there. (Mind you, some of us have graduated and still struggle with that skill.)

Never been to College.
I do, however, hear that Amhearst is a decent school. Congrats.

I was rather looking forward to a lighthearted conversation about the joys of taking different things and putting them together to create a picture of something like a landscape or a person or a mountain lion. C'est la vie.

I finished my equivalent of a freshman year over here in England last summer and I'm just about to go back in 2 weeks! If anyone is interested thats Roehampton University - Near Putney, London

Actually... I did it on purpose. I love doing it purpose.

I'll occasionally use the wrong word in spoken conversation too.

Wait. UMASS? As in UMASS Amherst?
I live right next to it .

But anyways, I'm not in college, but my brother just finished his first year of college. From his expression when he came home, the only thing i could make out of it is: "It's way harder/tiring than you think."

My uncle went to Amherst. I'm taking a year off before going to college, though. Even though I already got in somewhere. A place in Cambridge...

I still got almost two years. Currently a junior in HS. Good luck to all those who are in it right now though.
