View Full Version : Listening to Music Really Fast/Slow in the Playground...

I was going through my music library on my laptop and I thought to myself, "What does song x sound like sped up/slowed down?" I started experimenting, using the Windows Media Player enhancement that controls play speed settings, and I've gotta say, they sound pretty weird. "Don't Stop Believin'" sounds like a dirge when it's played slowly. Glados sounds like a hyper kid when you play "Still Alive" quickly. The very tone of the songs seems to change when the speed is changed.

Except for "Through Fire and Flames." I set it to play fast, and I really didn't notice much difference.

What about you, fellow Playgrounders?

buying vinyl of new bands through the post can be a bit of a mystery at times if you've never heard them before

if you've got a pitch control, then some records sound great when sped up to 34-35rpm... especially thrash. As municipal waste quite rightly put it - "no slow. ALL GO"
