Just thought I'd post something about it. Google seemed to be excited about the Cern, so I figured that there are probably a few people in the playground who also have opinions on it. I am personally apathetic to the building and operation of Large Hadron Collider, but there are a few things (http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/news/2226039/hackers-attack-cern) that I find interesting about it. Especially the black hole prospect, even if it has been rejected.

Does anyone in the playground have in thoughts or opinions regarding collisions through large hadrons?

I think it's kinda funny that the secondary purpose of the experiment(mini-black holes) is an attempt to prove the only thing Stephen Hawking has been wrong about right.

I think it's awesome that if it works, it will be virtual proof that science works.(I'm too lazy to find the XKCD ref, sorry. :smallsigh:
