Hey I have a question.

I keep using the linguist feat that someone once told me about. You can only take it at first level and it allows you to double the amount of languages you can choose...
I somehow got my DM to allow me to use it but here's the question:
Does this feat actually exist?

There is a linguist feat in 4E that gives you 3 more languages (And can be taken at anytime).
3.5 wise, there is the Multilingual feat (http://realmshelps.dandello.net/cgi-bin/feats.pl?Multilingual,all), Polyglot feat (http://realmshelps.dandello.net/cgi-bin/feats.pl?Polyglot,all), Smatterings feat (http://realmshelps.dandello.net/cgi-bin/feats.pl?Smatterings,all), and Gift of Tongues feat (http://realmshelps.dandello.net/cgi-bin/feats.pl?Gift_of_Tongues,all).
I'm guessing its the Multilingual feat by your description.

Star Wars Saga Edition also has a linguist feat which gives you 1+INT extra languages.

Able Learner is a possibility too. You only pay a single point per language for Speak/Read Language instead of two points. Need to be a human or changeling to qualify, though.

Oh, the other day, I read a feat which said "You may pick one new language spoken at each level". Did I imagine that? What book?

That would be the Master Linguist feat, you can find it in the Races of Eberron book

Heh indeed, though you'd have to be cunning to make use of the Master Linguist feat.

Thanks to all!! Now I can finally tell my DM that my many languages were actually justified each time
