Error While Posting

While I posting in the Play-by-Post forum, I recieved the following error:

Net::SMTP fatal error: unable to create Net::SMTP object localhost. at (eval 1) line 3.

I am not aware of what it means, but I believe the coders of the site will find it useful in fixing the problem quickly and efficently.

I encountered this error while posting on the following page:

I got the same error too, don't remember what thread it was on. I know SMTP means 'Simple Mail Transfer Protocol", but that's only used for E-Mail (as far as I know, I could be totally wrong ;)), so I dunno what it means...

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, used for sending emails. I guess something went wrong with "Notify me of replies".

P.S. I also received this error a few times.

Addendum: I also noticed email notifications are taking a while to come through for PMs.

if anyone has set the thread to notify them of replies, any update to that thread triggers the mailer module.
