The Fire Within (another ABR backstory)

Welcome to 'The Fire Within'.

This backstory is an OotS Style webcomic and a spin-off of ABR, telling everyone what happened from the birth of Chriky, right up until FireDrake and Chriky had entered the ABR:FFF plot. As such it will be written and drawn by FireDrake and Chriky (brothers in real-life, for anyone who doesn't know) and should update once a fortnight. You might even get more comics, when we have less homework. Then again, when Firedrake is making the comic it could potentially take longer than that, he's a bit of a perfectionist, and he's on his GCSE year.

I actually came up with the title and had never heard of the book
however firedrake has read the whole series and did tell me before we used it.

And it's a good title for a comic about 2.. dragon.. people.. things.. mutants. Dragons? Fire within? My pun senses are tingling.. that may just be the aspirin though.

I was thinking of calling it The Fire Internal, as a sort of play on the titles of two of the series.


I have relatively high hopes for this backstory, so I hope you guys wont start slacking and stop making comics like every other 3 out of 4 backstorys. :smalltongue:

We should be able to manage our once a week update. It gives me the weekend to do the cartloads of homework I've been getting recently, as well as the comic. Most of our templates and story is already prepared, so we probably won't end up slacking.

This is numbered Comic #8 because there's another comic that we might insert into the gap between this and #6.

This scene was mostly inspired by Lying as it ties in with his comic, Remember, later on. So anything in Remember will have canonicity over this, ie. I might have got some stuff wrong.

We're gonna try to get back into a weekly or fortnightly update pattern. After comics 9 and 10, it's mostly up to Chriky to keep this going because I'm gonna be overloaded with GCSE work.

That's the yellow dragons name (Aguar actually). It's a mix between the spanish words for water and claw (I think yellow dragons use water based attacks).

Tucking their legs closer to their bodies and changing the positioning of their wings periodically could remedy thus. also I can't seem to find one of the comics... I think it was six, and someone needs to update the front page archive.

The next comic should be up soon and Firedrake has actually been working on it. After the next comic I will be taken over mostly with Firdrake just fine-tuning my art so comics should be quicker as I am more dedicated than my brother.

Look at the 'Avatar Battle Royale' thread(s). These backstories with the 'ABR backstory' thing are comics made to supplement the ABR plots. They are the backstories of people who participate in ABR, talking about who they were before they enter the ABR plot(s).
