By, "mecha", I of course mean giant robots.

Pfft, too repetitive. And not sufficiently epic.

I am Sanger Zonvolt, the sword that cleaves evil! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2v_6zgq3j8)

Phew, somone responded this time.

Here's another two ideas: Thermosphere (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hJbe7YXsLU) and Zero Gravity (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTWi_wJXGPI&feature=related).

I am Sanger Zonvolt, the sword that cleaves evil! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2v_6zgq3j8)I am not Elzam von Branstein, but I am totally overriding your song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot-0-KyPd0Y).

But for a boss, let's go with Violent Battle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wA7Q048G9oQ) or Teh Valsion (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kqeDq76fJs). Or, if you absolutely must have nothing you cannot cut, The Gate of Magus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLj3VLEVr2g).

Frankly, there's no need for me to stop posting my endless combo of Super Robot Wars music in this subject. The whole franchise is full of awesome music, and this is just scratching the surface of the non-licensed stuff. Check out SRW and JAM Project's entries in Crowning Music of Awesome (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CrowningMusicOfAwesome).

The Gaia gear Soundtrack. Volumes 1 and 2. Sample 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkwqBB01kgI)
dogfight and man machine go might be better choices though.

The Protomen, specifically Vengence (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoB7M-sqtqU).

I could name a few more obvious songs, but these fit for bosses.

I think there was a thread like this before.
Vortex Infinitum. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUKLGYGJZKE) (Guilty Gear XX #Reload)
To Judge or Be Judged (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvNWWYdLLSE) (SRW)
If you want something a bit slower and grander:
CHAOS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1S-KPziNOU&feature=related) (SRW)
I also second Nerd-o-Rama's suggestions. Super Robot Wars music is excellent.

I'd personally suggest The Gate of (the) Hell (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0q0jgScOD4), segueing into VICTORY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SunHloU7jk) when the heroes definitively take the advantage and/or when someone in the party does something genuinely awesome.

Or you could use any of the other suggestions. Or anything by JAM Project, for that matter. They're just that good.

I do think we ought to consolidate these Music threads though. You're here requesting a soundtrack every other week, it seems.

I was always partial to Stoning (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLMPRm-DA3k), but then again, I always did have a penchant for the dramatic.

The RPG game genre is heavily overrepresented on this forum. :smallyuk:
So let's try something a little different (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUN3esjzxRY&feature=related).

SRW, Xenogears and TTGL... this thread is made of win.

*cracks knuckles*

What kind of a mech would that boss be? Are the players riding mecha themselves, or are they on foot?

Most of the good songs have already been suggested... but most, not all!
Rocks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdnSGsKFQ-o) by JAM Project - extremely hot-blooded!
And, something completely different, Flight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxAzuUgI460) from Xenogears - my favorite music from this game.

GONG (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BTr4k_SKug) is my favorite JAM Project song.
Though it's not really so much for the beginning part of the battle. It's more for when the party's reached their limit and is trying to find that extra supernatural strength within them to kick the BBEG's rear all the way to mecha hell.

The Album (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8jlOCbagt8&feature=related) version has an added orchestrated intro.

Game BGM version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiPfUF6Ikgw) (couldn't find one that's audio only).

Most of these song have too much of a fantasy feel to them for Mecha, I would go with something more sci-fi. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ6ZW5wv13A)

I think almost all the PSO "IDOLA" songs would work, this is just my favorite.

Liberi Fatali- FF8.

I can't find a good version of it online, but you can download a good version if you look for it. I can't find where, unfortunately.

That, or Iron Man. That's my brother's friend's warforged fighter's 'song' whenever his turn starts.

Delving into Touhou, there's also UN Owen Was Her? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIop055eJhU)

Of course, that one would work better with ye olde What-dost-thou-mean-it's-not-symbolic.

The Galaxy Reactor (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85CPQD6hpgU) from Super Mario Galaxy would work nicely, too.

Zorba the Greek (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeriTXdLfZk) could work.

(Yes, I'm aware I'm stretching it for that one)

O Fortuna (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuERh0jBjh8) is undeniably epic.
