(This is Not a Chocobo!)
(Seriously...kinda......maybe...)

Has anyone seen some good homebrewed (or maybe even official?) rules and stats for these guys? I am guessing it has been done thousands of times before, so I am hoping you guys can link me to some good ones.

By "good", I basically mean some well-balanced rules. Especially something which will make games fun. I would prefer something that a DM here has actually used herself/himself before, but anything would be greatly appreciated.

A later issue of Dragon had them converted for 3.5.

Zeta Kai's FFX thread may have them.

Really? That is a big surprise. Are you sure about this?

I figured they couldn't do that due to copyright and such.

Do you happen to know the issue number?

Zeta Kai's FFX thread may have them.

Do you have a link to said thread please? I am assuming it is a somewhat old thread?

Right here.

EDIT: This post in particular.

Not so much old as continually updated.

Dragon stashed them in Silicon Sorcery as "Riding Bird" to escape copyright.

And yes, Zeta Kai does have them.

272 was gold.

For those who saw the cover: =pun.

I'm converting those monsters when I get the chance. As well as the other missing ones. If you know the issue, you know what I'm referring to.

Hey, that's not good to hear. I just bought it on ebay less than 20 minutes ago. :smallfrown:

What is wrong with the issue?

If you do a google search you'll find homebrewers making Final Fantasy D20 and Final Fantasy OGL products. I've downloaded a bunch of them, some are better than others but it is all a matter of taste. I like Zeta's version, but as I've pointed out, many monsters are missing physical attacks in favor of magic. I think it fits the setting well, but it may make them difficult to import into a standard D&D game.

Dragon magazine was never perfect, but I didn't think that issue was so bad.
