I'm getting tired of sifting through pages of junk comics. So, if anyone wants to link me to fantasy/adventure web comics that have art equal or better than OotS that are funny throughout and don't sail to Drama Island, please do so.

To whoever posts links: You have my infinite thanks.

If you aren't aware of 8-bit theatre (http://nuklearpower.com), that's the one that jumps right out.

Goblins (http://www.goblinscomic.com) is another mainstream.

Delving a little deeper into the pool, we've got The Phoenix Requiem (http://requiem.seraph-inn.com/), Tales of the Traveling Gnome (http://ttg.comicgenesis.com/), Tales of Pylea (http://talesofpylea.comicgenesis.com/), What Birds Know (http://www.thewebcomiclist.com/p/8237/What-Birds-Know), Atland (http://www.realmofatland.com/index.php), **shudders** Looking For Group (http://lfgcomic.com/) (i don't like the early chapters of this one), Rice Boy (http://riceboy.jho-tan.com/), Kristy Versus the Zombie Army (http://www.kristyvsthezombiearmy.com/), Gunnerkrigg Court (http://gunnerkrigg.com/index2.php), Girl Genius (http://girlgeniusonline.com/), Dreamland Chronicles (http://www.thedreamlandchronicles.com/) (this one is for a younger audience), Between Two Worlds (http://www.between-two-worlds.net/), and Bang Barstal (http://www.graphicsmash.com/comics/bang_grsm.php?view=archive&chapter=14393&mpe=1).

And that's just the ones that i think fit "adventure/fantasy" the best. I have alot more that kind of fade the line.

Goblins (http://www.goblinscomic.com) is another mainstream.
It does "sail to Drama Island" though. Pretty soon even. However, it's still definitely worth reading.

Another recommendation would be Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic (http://yafgc.shipsinker.com/). It's basically an arc-based gag a day strip focusing on the adventures of D&D monsters. Even though it gets a little dramatic from time to time, it always stays upbeat.
The art style, well, just click the random strip button a few times and decide for yourself. (I like it.)
Oh, and it really consistently updates daily.

Goblins doesn't just sail to Drama Island, it sails there, established a beach-head, butchers all the other occupants, founds a city and declares itself Undisputed King of Drama Island.

If you want an excellent fantasy comic, I'd go with Girl Genius. It's the only webcomic I read that I've bought in print, it's that good.

Goblins [...] declares itself Undisputed King of Drama Island.
And rightly so, I say! :smalltongue:

By the way, now that I see a familiar face here, if you (the OP, that is) like having some fun with media that falls in the So Bad It's Good (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SoBadItsGood) category, you could give Dominic Deegan a try and join the fun we most definitely have here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91533).

The comic is located here (http://www.dominic-deegan.com/). Beware, though, as this way lies madness. And I don't mean this kind (http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=eZeYVIWz99I&feature=related) of madness. I mean this kind (http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=gNqiSkd1M6k).

I'm gonna go ahead and suggest my own. It's more of a steampunk/science fiction oriented drama, but you'll see the quality when you see it.

If you want something that's definitely fantastical but not particularly gaming-related, you MUST check out Kukuburi (http://www.kukuburi.com/2007/08/09/one/) by Ramon Perez. Threads about it here never seem to stick around, but it's some of the best web-comic art I've ever seen and the story, though the updating has slowed down because of Perez's personal life (like trying not to be evicted, I think), it's just now getting to the good/crazy bits and just today hit strip #100.

Here, for instance, is a sample of that art.

Yes, that is a battle-whale, and yes that is a charismatic skeleton BBEG surrounded by flying evil manta rays.

i'll vouch for that. I actually only found out about that one on these forums less than a week ago and finished up the archive in one sitting. Fantastic so far, in all aspects - art, narrative, pacing and characterization.

Kukuburi looks at first glance to be awesome.
I hope second glance will look as good when I get around to reading it through, but it looks worth it even for the pictures only.

Since someone else suggested their own comic, I will too. Chasing the Sunset (http://www.fantasycomic.com) is a fantasy webcomic built on humour with with an underlying story and occasional dramatization. I wouldn't say the art is better than OotS, but I do try.

do you draw or write?

good comic so far, although i see no hint of steampunk or science fiction so far. The art is great, although it's difficult to tell people apart sometimes.

From what little in the story is there, I like it. The lettering has managed to pop up a couple of peeves of mine, such as bolding random words, especially the ones that seem to be emphasizing the wrong parts of the sentence. I've also noticed that the way the speech bubbles are organized makes it difficult to tell which order to read the panels in.

you can try Amazing Superteam (http://www.drunkduck.com/Amazing_Superteam/) It's my superhero comic in a style similar to oots.

No! Johnny, they have to build up a Dominic Deegan resistance before you expose them to that! Have you any idea what Supergreg can do to an untrained mind?

I could never really stick with reading DD even before I learned it was crap, it's humor wasn't appealing enough to catch my juvenile aspect and the story just wasn't grabbing me.
