Ethereal Sight - Can see into the ethereal at will

Augury - As the spell

Prediction - Using a talisman, the character can make a prediction about a certain focus person or item. These predictions are usually cryptic. The type of talisman must be chosen at character creation (mirrors, runes, bones, tarot cards, smoke, entrails, etc..). If using a permanent talisman (mirrors, tarot cards, etc...), if the item is talisman, it takes one week to 'attune' to a new talisman. 'Disposable' talismans (herbs burned to make smoke, entrails) cost 10gold each time they are used. The talisman also functions as a focus item, similar to a holy symbol, for spell casting.

Object Reading - By touching an item, the character can provide information about the item's history.

Scry - As per the spell.

I agree with Waledo. Taking the spellcasting away and iving it more uses of it's class features/day would probably work for an NPC class.

I think you should cut the spellcasting to 6th level spells, but otherwise, it's looking good to me.

I don't know, the spell list is extremely limited.

Yes, but that can be worked around. Full casting + class features = PC. Partial casting + no class features = NPC. Those are pretty simple formulas.

I worry less about NPC classes than other ones.

Big Label says 'NPC' should keep players out of it.

I like the class :).

If you're worried about it, make every spell a ritual requiring at least an hour to cast. Make the rituals require a magic focus like pipe weed or incense that is pungent and easily discerned. See how popular it is for PCs then :).

I imagine it would be very popular amongst hobbits halflings and gray wizards.

I would seriously consider playing this class in a normal group. Note that no one's suggesting the class isn't good, it's just that it's clearly not as weak as the other NPC classes.
If I were you, I'd modify it, but not to weaken it. I'd tweak the power level up juuust a bit, and make this class the Divination spontaneous caster to the Illusion based Beguiler (or the Neromancy based Dread Necromancer). For real.
Bump the Spells Per Day up to PC-class levels, maybe tweak the spell list a bit without NPCs in mind (or maybe not), and give it another class feature or two (like the beguilers/dread necro's advanced learning to pick up another spell or two), and call it a new base class. Maaaaaybe bump the Reflex saves up too ("You saw that coming, didn't you?")

Because I think I'm going to play a blind/blindfolded Oracle as my next character now, honestly. It's a good concept, and good work, it's just clearly not for NPCs.

Exactly.
NPC classes are supposed to be abysmal, but this is almost half decent.
Tweaking it so it only has spells up to 6th,
or
Changing it so that it's more like the beguiler(with stuff almost every level) would improve this vastly.

Also, if your going NPC, take out Ethereal Sight.
Heck, even for a PC, Ethereal Sight should be moved up a few levels, because it is half decent.

Really, KeresM, if you're not interested in going that route, would you be offended if I use this class as a springboard to do just that?

Actually, I'm kind of working on it as a PC class now, so feel free !
