Trick-or-Treaters in the Playground

Well, its a little more than a week into October, so Halloween is just around the bend. So, as we threaten mischief towards our neighbors to extort confectionery treats while dressed up to hide our identities, why not costume our spiffy OotS-style avatars.

Of course, making Halloween-themed avvies is a tad overdone. Therefore, I have an idea that I hope my fellow avatarists will take a liking to:

DRESS UP AS OTHER PLAYGROUNDERS!

That's right. Redesign your avatar, or ask someone else to redesign your avatar, to look as if he/she is dressing up as someone else's avatar. For instance, I have two avatars that I hope you will help me decide between:

Be sure to add things that tip off that this is a costume, like hats, price-tags, cords, etc. I'd also suggest that we put on our costumes on October 27, just after Cat-Muffin Week. But hey, do what you want.

This thread is for showing off your spiffy costumed avvie or asking for one. You don't have to ask permission to dress up as someone, although you could ask if you want.

I dressed up as a slug/alien one year for Hallween, so if you wanted to go realistic, I could help.

Essentially, you make one of those skinny dresses, with enough room to walk without showing your legs' impressions. You put a bit of insulation there (especially up here, where it is frigid and deadly on Halloween) and sort of make a pillow out of the same material going out behind you, at the bottom, to form the tail along the ground.

For best results, try to add a platform with wheels, so it doesn't drag on the ground.

If this made any sense, I'd be impressed.

I had made at tail that was definatively fake (with feet sticking out, no less!), but it looked horrible. So I junked it. This one's not so bad, I think.

Oh, and before you ask, they look like that because they are balloons. I even went and made them a different colour of green taken from an actual picture of an actual green balloon.

Yeah, but this is the playground. If you start preparing ahead of time, people will start. Gender-Bender Week usually lasts about three weeks. It's because people have to get new avatars or find old ones, get all set up, and whatnot. It's hard to stay all set up for a month.

So, like, I decided the Serpentine costume was too inadvertantly incredibly freaking DISTURBING, so I had a little mental toss up between Fullbladder With Some Pumpkins, and Fullbladder In A Charlie Brown Halloween. The latter would have been the classical sheet-with-too-many-black-holes, and likely have a speech bubble reading 'I got a rock'.

I went with the pumpkins, and like them too much now.

I just wanted to ramble about it somewhere.
