Now, I struggle getting to level 8...

I've never beaten level 8, although I did score against it twice one time (so we were both in sudden death).

Two tries, got to level 5 on the second.

I super-spun it in on the first try every time on level 4, then tried the same on level five but failed to deflect it when it shot back.

I've actually always disliked this game, personally. I prefer things that are either more puzzley, actiony, or adventurey. Not sure how to classify this one, it's just never grasped my interest much.

Current record's 26225 on level 8, it seems that listening to "The Extreme" from Final Fantasy 8 helps :P.

EDIT: I clicked on "save page as", which somehow caused two Curveball games to come up. Tried playing them both at the same time, managed to get to level 6 before losing all my lives on one of them. Combined score of about 44k :P

I always find that the trick to beat Level 8 is to keep it simple: don't do fancy stuff right away. Just go for the straight ball at first, and keep trying to do straight stuff.

The AI will complicate matter waaaaaaaaaaaaay too quickly for your own tastes anyway...

Just much experience with table tennis and pong can make this game pretty easy for the first 6 levels orso.
