My vote goes for the Unspoken Chorous - I like the idea of a sound-based incorporeal creature, and sound gets the shaft in D&D anyway.

Plus, y'know, I don't wanna be crass enough to vote for myself.

I vote for the Unspoken Chorus by Djinn_In_Tonic.
Peanut Reaper? That's a stupid idea =P
(Very) Close seconds were the Pituku, the Spirit Gate, and Bubba the Headless Chicken.

My vote also goes to Bubba the Headleass Chicken.

And with Bhu's permission, I'd really like to use this in my games (you make great stuff Bhu!).

Anyone can use stuff I post in their games. It's why I post it

I'm going with the Free Spirit, though there were a few close seconds (love that Peanut Reaper).

Im going to abstain from voting. It would be wrong to vote for mine, i cant choose between a few of the more serious ones. (sorry to the reaper and the chicken, but they seem to frivolous for me)

I'm giving my vote to Bubba. I've got comments for these critters but I'll reserve them for now. Needless to say, good job by all.

Could the Free Spirit be technically covered in penises? If so, it gets my vote.

Wait, what!? :smalleek:

You see a translucent sphere about 2 feet in diameter hovering in mid-air, every part of it is covered in eyes, ears, and other sensory organs. Its gazes combine carefree joy, with an equally strong intensity. Occasionally it deforms to extrude a small psuedopod.

Isn't a penis a sensory organ?

I am sure I know you in real life.

If you count it as skin, I suppose. Otherwise.....no. I'm Sorry.

Only if a succubus used her magic to pervert (literally) its form... otherwise... no. Good God in Heaven (no that isn't profanity, I mean it quite seriously...) NO!

That having been said, if bioengineering succubi are plausible in your campaign and you REALLY want to go that route with one of them, then it is your campaign... but I don't think it would improve the campaign unless done VERY skillfully...

I'm voting for the Spirit Gate. Constructs are pretty awesome in my book.

Y'know, I find it to be kind of insulting and demeaning that Bubba is getting all these votes; there are a number of perfectly serious entries where work and care was placed into their creation, and the fact that a headless ghost chicken is beating them is an insult to their creators in my mind.

I don't care if I win or not - but for the love of all that's holy, try to consider a creature that takes itself seriously.

I vote Spirit Gate. It's a nifty idea.

I suspect work and care actually WAS put into Bubba's creation...

Problem is, the same isn't being put into the votes for it. Voters see the name, the laugh, and vote for it without even looking at the other entries.

I always put effort into what I make. Every entry I've ever made has been dark horror type material, and for once I decided to go with comedy to be different. It's winning by 1 vote currently. One vote is not exactly a landslide. I wasn't expecting it to be controversial. Hell I figured that would've happened with teh Pembunuh a while back.

Pituku for shear audacity... it GOES THERE...

*Sigh*

While half of me really loves my creation, I can't in good conscious vote for myself, even if it would tie up the score. So give my vote to the Sons/Daughters of Silence, because I do love the fact that it's an inverse Unspoken Chorus in many ways...

I'm not saying you didn't make a good monster, and I'm not saying you didn't put effort into it. I'm not blaming you, either; I'm saying a lot of voters just think it's funny and vote for it for no other reason.

Is that a bad reason to vote for something? Funny has value too. Bubba and the Peanut Reaper were both hilarious.

That said, being a morose person myself, I'm going to vote fo the Sons/Daughters of Silence. Darn creepy critter. Me likes.

Well, as much as I'd like my spirit gate to win. I can't bring myself to vote for myself like this. Also while torn between a few of the more serious entries, I find that my vote would be best placed with the Unspoken Chorus. I can't bring myself to let Bubba win, as I feel I would never be able to use it (to goofy for any serious setting, and any non serious one I do would find it with out enough mind screw).

Indeed. I wish you luck, my worthy opposition (and that, given some of the sentiments voiced this thread, is said entirely sincerely. Just thought you should know).

Good luck to both of us! May the best (or Vorpal's favorite) monster win!

The "funny" voting for Bubba is why I refrained from voting this round. Bhu's entry is fine, but unfortunately the name is derailing inquisitive debate. For myself, I found the Pituku far more preposterous than Bubba, and had I voted, it would have been for the Unspoken Chorus or Sons/Daughters of Silence.

Even if I lose this is the second time I've fought to a tie so I'm perfectly happy.

Both Bubba and the Unspoken Chorus are very well done. I am hoping that those who voted voted for the creativity and ability put into the entries rather than merely because of a name.

Saying that, I have gone through both and have chosen...

Bubba the Headless Chicken by Bhu

I'd have given it my VT's Choice Award either way, with the Chorus running a close second.

Congratulations!
