First post, yay. To be editted.

Wait....

Well, it counts as edit I guess....

DD just realized that he's not really eligble or however you spell it for any of the four catagories. Unless...Nah... Or maybe later. But probably to late for this contest... well good luck everybody!

It's easier to win if you're well known, but we've had a few complete newbies win before. Ganurath, for example, won Thog itP just after he'd joined.

Also, welcome!

I shall go for skeleton in the playground, because skeletons are awesome, and I'm awesome. Plus I've played as a skeletal creature in several games, and I'm very skinny, so I find that I identify easily with the skeletal vibe. Also Skeleton Dance! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EP1TzHbt7do&feature=related) (I just like the skeleton dance )

...wicked, you say? Please excuse me as I gather up the rest of the village for some angry mob-related activity.

Anyway, I do think it's best to use the term 'Witch' for both genders in this contest, to prevent confused people from counting Warlock as a separate category.

There will be much burning in the SMBGs this week.

Nevertheless I nominate myself for Zombie in the Playground! Do not let this beautiful face and medium vocabulary fool you, I am an undead abomination. I cannot even point at people unless my neck is plugged into some poor sap's headless corpse! That is not good for one's mental stability!

I may not need brains to survive, but I must utilize a beheaded entity every day in order to merely crawl out of bed!

can there be any doubt of my identity as to being a witch. just look. i cast spells, particularly animating dead. i have a snake by my side. i have an allergy to operating during daylight. i seek out week members to gut and sacrifice to my deity for more power.....well thats because tiamat likes that sort of thing but meh it works. dont think that being a kobold exludes one from being a witch....most of us are witches anyway.

EDIT: oh yeah campaign slogan---vote me for witch in the playground or ill animate your mother-in-law to expound your deficinces forever

Crap, I completely forgot that. Can I change it so I'm running for skeleton instead? (hmmm, it does seem that i'm perfect for skeleton because of the not having a brain and all.)

I am the most likely candidate for Skeleton ITP, because while not always a skeleton, I'm always skeletal. Plus, skeletons are my favorite kind of undead. Besides, Skeletons make the coolest evil/cool or just plain evil cool things, like so:

2. In D&D i have only ever once not played a spell caster

Zombie in the Playground? THAT BE ME!

Vote Talic for Zombie in the Playground! Why you ask? Well, wouldn't you want a dedicated zombie? A Zombie that knows what it's like to eat a brain?

Come on, let's look at the competition here. We've got a Wolfbane the Skellie, and some secondhand Addam's Family knockoff! Those ain't Zombies. I mean, they will be, once the zombie horde overwhelms they're city... But, here? In the Playground? Come on, you know who the REAL ZOMBAH is.

"Thank you for your support, Dallas Dakota. When I turn all the playgrounders into zombies, I'll make you a semi free-willed general.
Now then, Talic is it? You think I'm, and I quote, 'some secondhand Addams Family knockoff'? This (http://ww2.wizards.com/gatherer/CardDetails.aspx?name=Festering%20goblin) is my heritage, not your 'Uncle Fester'. Once I was a mindless, rotting thing, shambling with the rest of you. But I clawed my way up to an intelligence once unheard of in the zombie community. I made my zombification a matter of choice. I embraced the negative energy pulsing through my veins – which is more then any other mindless zombie could accomplish. And I inspired more and more zombies to try and achieve greater skills without using a Michael Jackson video.
You preach the power of zombification to the masses, and for that, I commend you. But today you face the master of all things zombie, and if you think you can degrade me by comparing me to… "Uncle Fester"… you are sorely mistaken."
((Hey Uncle – arrogant much?))

Some useful resources for those who wish to know more of zombies.

Be Cool to Zombies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZO2w2rMSuY)
Prison + Zombies = Awesome (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMnk7lh9M3o)
Killing Time... (http://www.zombiegames.net/)

And the only one of the above not in my favorites list (on my coffee table)...

Science Channel Plug for the Zombie Survival Guide (http://science.discovery.com/stories/zombies.html)

Now, some here like the thought of zombies... Me? I'm a student of all things zombie. When I choose whether or not to get into a RPG? Does it have zombies? Since my first days on the Playground, my avatar has been one of the walking dead, and so shall it remain for all time.

Now, every zombie horde needs numbers... and I need yours. You alone have the power to bring forth a zombie apocalypse, this hallow's eve! Cast forth your votes, and BE HEARD!

Talic
2008-10-26, 09:56 AM
"Please. Festy, Festy, Festy. If you claim that Zombification is a matter of choice for any, then you do not know what the TRUE Zombie is.

The true horror of the zombie isn't a flesh eating horde.

It's not about generals and leaders.

No, in a true zombie army, we're all soldiers. All equals.

No, the true horror of the zombie lies in humanity. Why else would every good zombie film, every good zombie movie... Why else would they start by showcasing the humanity of the doomed? Because, zombie isn't a choice. It's a destiny. The horror of the zombie is that your will, your essence, the very humanity that makes you who you are... that can be stripped away, laid bare, and you can become that which you fear. And it can be done without your choice. Without your will.

No the true horror of the zombie is that there is NO choice. Get your zombie general talk out of here. It's all empty campaign promises. All smoke and mirrors. No, in the true zombie army, we are all warriors. All brothers. And your lack of understanding shows what you cannot be."

"Did that slip in there? Stupid editor, not catching my mistakes…
No, you're right, Talic. Zombification is not a choice. But the greatest zombies, those who rise above the rest, are those who embrace their horrid fate and channel it into greater acts of evil.
But you have missed an even more important point. You remember all those zombies in those movies? They were defeated, using intelligence and ingenuity. I don't wait for my horde to be destroyed by tactics. I think. I plan. I prepare. And when the final confrontation begins – no, there won't even be any final confrontation. The hero will have been outsmarted by me before he got five steps into my castle of doom.
So keep your mindless undead, fated to be defeated by a kid with a gun and a brain. I'm the new zombie for the new generation, and I'm the one that will finally succeed in taking over the world."
((They're Pinky, they're Pinky and the Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain.))
"Shut up, you!"

Talic
2008-10-26, 10:36 AM
"You and I must be watching different zombie movies. Intelligence? Ingenuity? Show me a movie where they've fought back the horde.

Here? Nope. (http://www.zombiemovies.org/jmovies/28-Weeks-Later.html)
Here? Strike 2 (http://www.zombiemovies.org/jmovies/Dawn-of-the-Dead-04.html)
One of these has gotta... nope. (http://www.zombiemovies.org/jmovies/Night-of-the-Living-Dead.html)

No, another hallmark of the zombie is the relentless nature. They never care, they never tire. They never sleep, never slow, never cry. They don't feel pain, or joy, or hysteria. And eventually, no matter how smart you are... No matter how well you plan... You make that mistake. Or perhaps the guy that stood watch while you slept did. No matter. One person's mistake means everyone dies.

No, there are no winners in a zombie outbreak. I mean, maybe, if you classify such things as Land of the Dead and Shaun of the Dead as true zombie movies.

They're not. The first is more an alien movie. The second, a parody of zombie movies.

No, you have missed the most fundamental aspect of the zombie. You have fallen from the wayside, and are nothing more than a free willed meatbag.

What is that aspect? What is it to be a zombie? As any good zombie knows...

BRAINS IS FOR EATIN', NOT FOR THINKIN'!

That is all. Continue with your misguided foolish notions. Continue to hope that things were different. Hope that they change. Hope is the greatest lie wrought on those that feel, that care. Things won't change. Zombies come. People hide behind walls. People starve, or get careless, or get emotional. Zombies feed.

That is the Zombie I know. Take your talk of failure, and keep it where it belongs. In your campaign. I know of no failure here."

I'm curious for the people who want to be nominated for Skeleton itP

Do you put a skull at the top of your christmas tree?

Do fake skulls line your mantle and bookshelves?

Do you reticulate small skeletons in your free time?

Lord_Asmodeus

If I had a skull to put on top of my Christmas tree I would certainly try to, but my mom probably wouldn't let me...

Most of the books I read have skulls on the cover, does that count?

I have tiny skeleton models, and I have some Vampire Counts Skeletons and Graveguard (skeletons with awesome armor and swords) and I've always liked the Necron and the Tomb Kings...

Hmm. I like Festy and his ideals, but Talic is making really good speeches. This is going to be a tougher vote than I thought.

Look the thing you really want in a zombie is innovation. The shambling masses of Talic have an appeal, and the smarter zombies proposed by Festy have a place as well. But what is really scary is the wierd and wonderful variety that zombies can come up with.

A zombie with a fresh gimick is the zombie we want, zombie sheep or whales, zombies with wings. Zombies stitched together from the corpses of hundreds, zombies who will harvest the flesh of the dead to put themselves together again. Death is infinite in it's diversity, and I believe zombies should be too.

I represent diversification in zombification. Don't be content with the limited aspects of zombiehood the others offer. Vote Selrahc.

Give me a legless zombie, hauling itself across a floor after the living, dragging entrails across the ground! Give me terror! Give me horror! Give me the darkest fears in the recesses of your mind, brought to life, and given form in the dead eyes of your killer, once your friend!

Let the diversity in death be no different than the diversity in life, if you must. Zombie dogs, zombie sharks... For those in true high fantasy, heck, take a zombie troll or hydra. I'm cool with that. But zombies stitching themselves together?

Gather round, young and old, and let me tell you a tale. It is a horrible, marvelous, marvelously horrible tale. It all began when I was a small child. (Read: Right before I joined the forums)I was a happy thing, playing with matches and running with scissors like any small boy would. Then it happened, while walking home from a school trip to a chainsaw factory, I was possessed by a ghost. (And let me say that it is quite the queer feeling, being possessed) The ghost was nice enough, he wanted to ride my body for the sensory output it provided and couldn't very well kill me with his ghostly hands even if he wanted to off me. The nasty side affect of his presence was that I would begin talking backwards in moments of heated emotions. The entire situation sparked in me a great interest in the science of ghosts, and other progressive science fields as well. Soon I went mad in a quest for knowledge and began making discoveries never before seen by the likes of man (Ever heard of an Antimatter microwave? Yeah, didn't think so.) I finally created the greatest of my inventions in the finally days of my life. A time machine! Unfortunately I had forgotten to put a doorknob on the gateway, and in a fever of insanity, mumbling backwards to myself in the heat of the situation, I shot my frail old body out of a gravity cannon at the door, almost sure I would die in my attempts to see the creation of the universe before my demise. As I connected with the door I felt the ghost and myself flying through time, and in the out of body experience the ghost and myself became one. We found ourselves released in a cemetery, and, feeling our anchorage to this world slipping, we looked for a vassal. As luck would have it a small familiar looking boy was walking by with a toy chainsaw.......

No but awesome pictures of awesome skeletons prove how much I love skeletons, how cool I think they are, and how much I identify with them, thus proving that I am worthy to be the skeleton... in the playground. I think that's an excellent silly reason.

I think I should be the Skeleton in the Playground. Why? Because I have more in my closet than anyone. Sure you don't know who I am, but how do you think I got away with it for so long? I won't show any flashy pictures or anything like that. Instead I give you the Skeleton Song.

Skeleton you are my friend
But you are made of bone
And you have got no flesh and blood
Running through you to help protect the bone

Skeleton we have been friends for years
And you have seen me through some trials
And tribulations and some tears
But everybody thinks I'm weird
And I should have known
That it wouldn't be long
Until you, you've got me standing in an awkward position
With unwanted attention and a need for explanation
And it's not that I'm letting go of you
But I don't know what to do
Skeleton we are so close
But you have got no body
So why do you insist on wearing clothes
Skeleton when we were young
It was easy
Even though the other kids
They would tease me
But I was only seven I had you
But now I'm twenty-two
And now it's different, when I take you out
And you, you've got me standing in an awkward position
With unwanted attention and a need for explanation
And it's not that I'm letting go of you
But I don't know what to do
'Cause sometimes at night,
I dream of the most terrible things
I take a hammer and I creep out of bed
And I raise it high
And I smash your head
Fibular and tubular
And ribs and cages, too
In fact, while I'm here
I'll smash the whole of you

Smaaaaaaaaaaash !
But Skeleton, you are my friend
And I could never bring your life to an end
Yes Skeleton you are, you are my friend
And I will be there for you until the end
And even though, when I take you out
You've got me, you've got me standing in an awkward position
With unwanted attention and a need for explanation
I could, I could never let you go
And that is all I know
And that is all I know
And that is all I, that is all I know
And that is all I know, know

Yeah I don't expect to win, but I felt the need to be here.

"Citizens of the Playground, I come to you again, with a promise! I cannot promise free will, or protection. Such things are not the zombie way. I cannot promise talking... cats, was it? If you need those, go watch Alice in Wonderland. No, my cats come from Pet Cemetery, and they, like the rest of the horde, have better uses for a mouth than talking.

But the zombie horde is not a destroyer. We are creators! My campaign promise is to create a world where we are all equal! Man and child, young and old, all shall be no more or less regarded than another. We shall create a world where every living creature trembles as the moan of the unliving! And I say we, because we shall all be as one! Each and every one of you shall be as I am, as your neighbor, your cousin. We shall all be brothers-in-arms, united in the common purpose of feeding, devoted in the cause of the brain!

Others will try to impress you with inquisitions, claims of owning reality itself. These shams cannot hold in the stark reality of the truth. These promises, claims of zombification as a choice, claims of preferred generals.... They only reveal the fraud in the campaign. No, a vote for me is a vote for unity, equality. A vote for me is a vote for fairness. A vote for me, is a vote... for all zombiekind."

"And on that note, that is why being a ghost is a good thing. You can't be turned into a zombie because your'e already dead and there's nothing that a zombie could bit. Those are two things that ghost have over zombies, and there is more good things.

You can go through walls, you can fly, you can possess the living to get a feel of what life is like again. Ghosts also can serve as guardians, and they often keep their mind, unlike the zombie. Plus, ghosts are much harder to destroy than almost anything. So vote me, ThePhantom for ghost in the playground."

"Bah! Misrepresentation. Ghosts have corpses, same as any other. They just don't use them. It's quite possible to have your will subverted to that of a ghost, and your body into that of a zombie.

Further, ghosts are elitist horrors! Their club is exclusive. No, Zombie is a horror for the masses, for the people. Zombies are a horror for each and every one of you.

The horror of a ghost lies in what it does. The horror of a zombie relies only on what it is."

Yet you can easy beat a good side army of zombies with a flamethrower, a ghost you can do barely anything if you can at all. Plus greater ghosts will not stop until they do what they are bound to this earth to do. Zombies can go down but you just have to melt or salt or burn them.

"No, it means that not everyone can be. Anyone truly wronged can be a ghost. Anyone who can't let go. As for a fight? Why, I doubt a ghost really has much at his disposal for harming a zombie, or even much of a will to do so. See, ghosts? They're kinda victims. Smart, but unable to learn. Free-willed, but doomed to repeat themselves. Gifted with diverse abilities, but only able to use them towards a single purpose.

Zombies have one purpose too. Feeding. And it is that feeding that denies a ghost its targets to possess, the vengeance or forgiveness it needs. No, the zombie horde dooms the ghost... For it will never accomplish the purpose of slaying its killer, if the killer is a zombie. It can never get forgiveness from its former love, if that love only wants brains.

No, my friend. Ghosts take over houses, countrysides... Zombies... dominate countries, nations, worlds. Such is the power of unity in purpose. Such is the power of the horde."

Ghosts are very capaible of taking zombies to pieces. In fact, if it would be possible to get a ghost's good side, a person could have a good chance of living through a zombie doomday alive. Nominate me (and vote for me in the polls) as skeleton ITP, because I play a skeleton in a number of games, skeletal undead are my favorite kind! I also plan on going as a skeleton for Halloween... plus I'm already called Lord Skeleton in some games! I'm not just a skeleton, I'm a skeleton LORD! My WHFB army is comprised mostly of skeletons, and my best leader is a skeleton. I really feel I'm a good representative for skeletons everywhere, and will do my best to stand up for their interests! Plus, I'm a demon, and demonic skeletons are awesome looking. I really feel I would be a good Skeleton in the playground, and that I am highly suited to this task.

On the lighter side of the news (since, like, you lose 12 pounds when you die), you should nominate Felixaar for Zombie itP. BRAINS.

I know a lot of people have already put up their nominations, but seriously all... who could be more qualified? A few fun facts BRAINS.

1. I'm always a zombie for Halloween. ALWAYS. BRAINS.
2. I consistently and constantly threaten to eat my friends BRAINS.
3. I actually did eat brains once BRAINS.
4. BRAINS.
5. I was absent mindedly drawing the other night, and randomly drew a few pics of zombie's doing what zombie's do best. Then I got up and found this topic. BRAINS.

So do the right thing. BRAINS.

"It's easy to speak of devotion out on the streets. All we at the playground have... is what we see in the playground. And so, I ask you, which among us has truly dedicated themselves to being not just Zombie itp... But actually being a Zombie, IN the playground?

Now, Festy has a tenuous claim on zombie support, hinging back to a card for support. Whether that is true, or whether he belongs with Morticia and the rest of the Addams family... That's up to you to decide.

Me? I've been a zombie as long as I've been a Playgrounder. For as long as this playground has known Talic, it's known Talic as a zombie. As the zombie. The Zombie...in the playground.

There's a good dark-horse candidate, Zombie Rock Star.... But he hasn't even entered. However, there can be little question of his devotion to the Zombie cause, at least.

Now, I'm not talking about length of time in the playground. I'm talking about consistency. What was Felixaar last week? Last month. In the playground, was he a zombie? If you can't be a relentless, untiring member of the zombie cause, then are you really a zombie at all?

In the playground? I'm a zombie. From my first post, to my last breath, I'll be nothing other. The playground should have no less. The playground deserves no less!"

As for you, Festy, it doesn't take evil for retroactive truth revision. Just an overzealous competitive spirit. Let's look at this. Where's the zombie pride before this? Since you're so fond of looking back months, let's look back twelve. Go ahead, search for "zombie" and "talic", and "zombie" and "Uncle Festy". Check who's been more zombie since last halloween. Why vote Szilard for Skeleton in the playground? He's just this normal guy postin on a forum. Szilard is indeed very skinny, as most of the people running, and of course he likes skeletons. A lot of people say they are skinny, but are they only 80 pounds? Probably not. Anyway, I also made Lord Asmodeus a skeleton avatar, which looks really cool by the way. Just the other day, I was thinking about homebrewing a way to have a skeleton PC in D&D fourth edition. Lots of people who are running have just went and found pictures of awesome skeletons, but is that what it takes? No. If it did, I could have my campaign wrapped up in the next few pictures.

Ashamed? Ashamed? My good sir, that is a directly outright lie. First of all when one is raised by a well timed zombie apocalypse just moments after his death at the electric chair, that is not heritage, but rather... privilege. Despite how our minds may thrive at the thought of undead relations (no? no one else? hmm.), this was not my beggining. BRAINS.

The hiding, my friend, is only to extend our empire. To slowly... ever so slowly... sneak up on our targets and BAM. "I think I got the point perfectly well. Yes, ANYONE that hides does so to not be seen. I've never seen anyone say, 'I hide to be noticed!'

But if you're trying to hide, to avoid the blows of your enemies, then that is survival instinct. Fear. And if you do it to ambush, and set up flanks, then it's using a brain fer thinkin'. Both were addressed in my previous point.

Flank attacks? Ambushes? Leave those for live bait. Zombies only know one assault.

Zombies don't think. If they did, then becoming one wouldn't be so scary. No, the horror of the zombie relies on EVERYTHING that is you being gone. All that can remain is a moving body, swarming over the living, devouring flesh.

If your zombies can think, then they just aren't as scary. And in a horror, scary is everything.

I've always thought the best zombie diseases, etc were the ones that left the victim conscious. If being turned into a zombie is something that ends you, as regular death does, then your fate wouldn't seem much scarier than regular death. If you are still aware of your actions, but are still unable to stop, that's a fate worse than death

I give you the following examples from gaming:

1. The Headcrab Zombie: It can be inferred from their moaning that they are alive, the parasite rooted into the brain, the stomach ripped open. Death would be a sweet release, and yet they aren't in control of their own actions.

2. The zombies from System Shock 2: Similarly, these seem conscious. They beg for death, much more openly than the above example, and apologize for currently trying to bash your skull against the floor.

These fates, watching myself kill innocent victims, not wanting too but doing it anyway, would feel worse than seeing something happen and not do anything about it. Add in the regular mutilations zombies usually undergo, and you have a fate that you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy.

See, now, in example 1? The zombie moan is a quintessential part of what a zombie is. It does not infer sentience. Whether it be Thriller, Night of the Living Dead, or references in Max Brook's Zombie Survival Guide, there's a common moan. In none of these entries is intelligence.

The other? Not zombies. Controlled humans. Violent bashing alone does not a zombie make. If so, a great many movies, including Friday the 13th, would be zombie movies. No, zombie horror is the fact that no matter how much your parent, lover, friend, or child loves you, they are one bite away from trying to kill you... and you them. And there is nothing you can do about that.

You ever play them backwards?

And anyway, that doesn't invalidate my point. If someone has the chance to either die, then and there, or continue a plagued existance of horror and torture for as long as they can not be killed through zombie killers, I'd assume they'd prefer death.

"Ah, but the whole point... They don't get to choose. They get to be killed in a highly torturous manner, being eaten alive, and they get to know, as their last thought, that they will become the very thing that killed them. While on an individual level, you may have a point, there's a reason that Star Trek modelled the borg after the zombie horde. An army that gets stronger through destroying its opposition is a terrifying concept, to the people that must fight it... To the living. While your suggestion may have merit for the dying, there's little difference for those who are still fighting. For the ones that are truly the targets of the terror."

I am playing a similar concept in the town, actually, as full on zombies are rather unsuited to RP. Still, whether their mind is gone, or merely locked away, unable to do anything but watch, the end result is the same. The only difference is the inner torment.

I have a question for wolfbane in all my vampire atude I have noticed that you have choosen VAMPIRE women to represent your general "female fanbase", well I have to say that if they are in fact vampires then they are almost ertainly with you being a skeleton and all that are not truly after you as a person, or anything else you own aside from yor soul. Do you not realise that they are manipulating you to achieve their greater goals, well aobve your own statement of "every girl being crazy about a sharp dresses (skeleton) man?
Also as a Skeleton do you reaqlsie that you would in fact not be able to experiance those feelings, or any feelings at all for that matter. Due to your non fle****ude.

Do you not realise that they are manipulating you to achieve their greater goals, well aobve your own statement of "every girl being crazy about a sharp dresses (skeleton) man?
2. Also as a Skeleton do you reaqlsie that you would in fact not be able to experiance those feelings, or any feelings at all for that matter. Due to your non fle****ude.
Over examinatuion, but the tired sterotype of vampire women being well you know started me on this tangent of thought.

More questions, good, and these have actually made me think. I have numbered your questions for reader convenience.

1. The fact that they are trying to manipulate me means nothing if I know that they are trying. You should remember the saying..."Keep your friends close, and you enemies closer". This situation pretty much follows those same principles. If I keep the people that I know are trying to manipulate me close to me, it means I can react to them much, much faster.

2. *ahem* Well, since I am Baron Samedi, I can say that I actually have many physical forms. My current one being one of the most accepted ones. Being a Loa(Voodoo God) of death has it perks though. And not to mention that I am also the Loa of parties and "parties"(:smallwink:). So, I can say that I am actually enjoying their company.

And just in case you were wondering, I actually thought about which female monsters would be the best ones to have. I ended up ruling most of them out as not following the theme(i.e. Medusa) and ruling out others because they just didn't seem to fit right(Mummies). It had actually came down to Banshees and Vampires. I ended up ruling out the Banshees because, originally, Banshees were the undead souls of women who were unfaithful to their husbands (and in some legends, murdered their real husbands). And that is how I came by my choice.

Hope this answered your questions, and I'm looking forward to more challenges ahead.

1: Faster than someone with the reaction time to dodge a bullet as easily as a trained rock dodger (not a popular profession, but a nesscary one nontheless.) dodges a stone flung at him by a child? I think you well underestimate vampric females wolfbane.
2. But, your physically unable to while your a skeleton. Its scientific fact.
let me quote some wiki on you on who one experiances THOSE feelings.

Studies have shown that brain scans of those infatuated by love display a resemblance to those with a mental illness. Love creates activity in the same area of the brain that hunger, thirst, and drug cravings create activity in. New love, therefore, could possibly be more physical than emotional. Over time, this reaction to love mellows, and different areas of the brain are activated, primarily ones involving long-term commitments
this is entirely scientific, but basicly it says that you need a WORKING, PHYSICAL brain in order to feel love. This is not a problem for sentient zombies, and vampires as well We have felsh. However... skeletons not so much.

However, Fan, you do have a habit of trying to "one up" other people( I point to the K/K thread last night, with Phantom's post about watching the original PotO movie), and attempting to make assumptions that are mostly inaccurate (ala most of your "observations" on Rabbit), as well as tearing other people down frequently (ie the ship thread last night).
This behavior of yours is mostly rampant in the itP contests, however.

Even stil death god means he is a eve stronger force of negative energy.
I garuntee you that ANY death god you can find will be A: Undead, B: Spiteful to the world as in the case of Hades, and Wee Jas., or C: Uncaring, or ghost like.

Ah, but here is the catch. While I am physically a skeleton in every way possible; mentally and metaphysically, I am not one. The skeleton is just a form chosen by me to suit my purposes on the physical plane(plain?). It allows me to interact with my followers in a form that they associate with my domains(death, parties, and "parties" but, mainly death). I am in no way associated with Hate or evil though. I suppose you would say my alignment would be CN.

Doesn't that mean if someone kills like 1000 of your followers you would hurt... BAD.

UncleWolf
2008-11-01, 01:09 PM
No, you become a Loa IF, you amass such a large number of people to follow you and KEEP them for such a long time, that they actually start to believe that you are more than human. Eventually when you do "die" you could theoretically become a certain kind of Loa depending on what you did during your life. Elvis hasn't been added to the list officially because there are those who don't believe that he should be. They aren't powerful because of their followings, they are powerful because of what they did while they had been alive. You had to have influenced people on a large scale in a (generally) positive way. For example, many Loa are practically Voodou versions of the Saints (Papa Legba is St. Peter or St. Lazarus). It is a fairly complicated process. And generally, if someone killed over 1000 of your followers I think All of the Loa would take vengeance on your behalf (you just can't knock off 1000 people without everyone getting pissed off at you). I don't think that you would generally be weakened, but your influence in the physical world would be lessened. Also, practitioners of Voodou don't generally worship just one of the Loa, they use different ones for different situations.

Papa Legba (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papa_Legba)
Baron Samedi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baron_Samedi)

Each Loa has a different purpose, even if they overlap.
I'm glad that I could help enlighten you.

It is pretty accurate when people actually do their research before putting up the page. The person who did the Loa page, did a pretty decent job for the overview. They could have gone into much more detail, but I can see why they didn't since there is just way too much to do it easily.
