Hi there everyone reading this.

Ive recently got hold of a bunch of mp4 files of some old cartoon's and such from a friend. My problem here is, I have no mp4 player, and I am unsure of what program i can run mp4's on on a pc.

So basically, im asking what programs let me watch mp4 and if there are any free ones out there on the web.

Winamp (http://winamp.com) can, but you've gotta install a plugin and mess with some settings first.

Quicktime (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/) does support it, as does Windows Media Player, although for the latter, you've got to Install a codec (http://www.downloadatoz.com/codecs/windows-media-player-mp4-codec.php).

So uh... I know you've got the problem fixed, but I still want to say you should get VLC media player: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ Extremely lightweight, and plays just about anything you can think of.

File is far too large and my net to unreliable currently to try downloading that thing. Honestly, its nice all week and then once your about to go back to school, it goes.

13 megs is too big? What connection speed do you have?

MP4 always works in quicktime for me.

... Or you could stick it in movie maker, throw all the scenes in it and save it as WMV >.>

If you're desperate, you could convert them to something else. Dunno what other programs are out there, but I used Prism Video Converter last time I needed to convert something. Takes like forever, though.

For video playback, I've tried VLC player but didn't like it, no matter how much people recommend it.

I use ZoomPlayer. It plays anything, it's highly customizable and has a handy little app that lets you download or update codecs for the stuff you want to play. It plays realmedia files, quicktime movies and .flv (flash videos as from YouTube). Also mkvs and the whole thing.

Give it a try.

Do you think IPOD is the best MP4 player in the world? Beautiful looking, multi-function, best quality, best service and support and so on. Really, is there any disadvantage of IPod?

In my opinion, there are still disadvantages of IPod. When I want to upload music on IPod, it needs me to download an Itunes. It brings me troubles. Do you think so? And its screen is so small except IPOD TOUCH. When I watch movie, it makes me so terrible.

So I want to know the pros and cons of your MP4 player. Everyone can get guidance when you post your opinion.
