So here's an idea: a book of monsters specifically created to challenge optimized PCs. Standard monsters revised to take into account bonuses an optimized PC can get, tactics an optimised PC can use and the whooping amount of damage/ability damage/negative levels and other crap an optimised PC can dish out. By optimised PCs I mean fairly strong characters like a CoDzilla, frenzied charger or incantatrix but not utterly broken stuff.

Things to do:

a) Remake base creatures to be at least as strong as a dragon of that CR. E.g. a Balor with its 20 HD and a Wurm Black Dragon with its 34 HD are both CR 20 but the dragon is much stronger.
b) Make sure mosters are protected from the usual "I Win" buttons.
c) Redefine CR X from "an encounter for a party of level X" to "needs 25% the resources of level X party to defeat"
d) Make monstrous feats on par with metamagic feats, metamagic improvement feats and the stronger meele feats PCs usually use.
e) Give monsters treasures they can and will actually use.
f) Make encounters last at least 10 rounds.
g) Make sure PCs don't exploit monster abilities for themselves.

So, any suggestions on what monsters you'd like to see redone? Any new monster concepts? Any advice on what new abilities should be included?

Well, Fax Celestis' CR 33 crab (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57301&highlight=pseudonatural+crab) would be an interesting one...other than that, not sure.
