Uncle Festy
2008-11-15, 11:39 PM

He's not the seer. He made it up to save his ass. Then, when he realized he was just delaying his death for a day, he deleted it to try to cover his ass.

Hyozo
2008-11-15, 11:55 PM
So does that mean we have *no* reason to suspect Helgraf then? :smallconfused:

Actually we do have some. Emperor Demonking pointed out that Helgraf wasn't on either of the grue lynching wagons, and, unless my count is wrong (which it might be), Helgraf's vote for Emperor Demonking yesterday actually temporarily put that bandwagon ahead of the one on Shades of Gray.

Griever
2008-11-15, 11:56 PM
Just looking at the ways the bandwagons have swung back and forth, I don't feel any wolf involvement, tbh, so I don't think either Helgraf or The Chees are grues.

ThePhantom is striking me oddly, though. Even with all the doubt and the debunking of evidence brought forward, he sticks with the whole "If Helgraf proves innocent, we lynch Teh Chees!!", which I would do if I was a wolf and there were two villager bandwagons.

never said helgraf wasn't grue
actually the only definitive thing I've said is I'M NOT A GRUE
and that is DEFINITELY true.

All this is making me confused even though I kinda maybe said a couple things to start it.

Why would I state that i was the seer anyways?
If I stated that I was seer then all the grues would kill me.
What would be the point in surviving the day to be killed in the night?

Oh well I'm truly confused.

Wait a sec when I edited my post that 'supposedly' claimed I was seer i only changed the bit about me role-playing because Mechafox said i wasn't really.

*sigh*

LOOK. Claiming the seer is never something to do lightly. It is one of THE most powerful roles in ANY WW game. It has a neigh-foolproof way to find wolves. If you ARE innocent, not only have you managed to kill yourself through this whole snafu (which doesn't help the villagers any), you've confused all the REST of the villagers as well. If you're innocent, you defend yourself. You don't LIE about what you are. Suppose you hadn't backpeddled. You'd have the whole village following you thinking you're the seer. Or at least the fool, or possibly the devil. That'd be a pickle for you, wouldn't it? I know you're afraid of getting lynched, but lying about it doesn't help your team at all.

What's more probable, is that you're a hacker, and were trying to save your skin, but didn't think through the plan all the way. Or perhaps you're a pirate/ninja who thinks Helgraf is the other, and thought this would be a nifty way to fulfill your objective. Either way, learn from this experience, and we hope to see you in a future game.

Uncle Festy
2008-11-16, 12:28 AM
… no, not really.
How does "attained" make sense here?
See, everyone thought you were more suspicious because you claimed to be the Seer to save your but, and then when you were in danger of being lynched tomorrow if/when Helgraf turned out to be a Meme, you backed off your claim of Helgraf being a Grue to save your but, and then when people started being suspicious of you because of that, you backed off all your claims altogether to save your but. Sounds like someone very invested in saving their but. Either a self-centered player… or a Grue.
Guess we'll find out at the end of the day.

Weeell... I'm torn. Kaboose did say to be nice to you, taE hesCe, but then again, you've been caught lying. And changing your claims. It's usually a good policy to lynch the liars in WW... I can't even see your motivation for lying.

However, if you are a grue, it seems likely that your team would have stopped you at some point. I'm sure there's someone on the grue team who would have noticed and known to say "Hey! No! No claiming to be the seer, then changing that claim. No." Then again, it's possible that your claim wasn't discussed nor noticed by the team. Or you are incredibly stubborn, and just recently caved in the wrong direction.

Also, y'know, it seems silly that a grue acting on his own would take such a risk. Even if you are new, it seems you would have thought it out a bit beyond this.

So at this point, it doesn't seem particularly likely to me that you're a grue... but the chances of you being anything else are much lower. Seeing as you lied, I'm voting to lynch you anyway.

Ill clarify for everyone's sake
I'm purely just a selfish Meme
No other grues telling me to stop claiming to the seer

Did all this purely because I'm inexperienced at this game.
Thought that seer thing would be taken as a lie
(I mean why on earth would i randomly scry helgraf of all people?)
Then everyone half believed it and said they would lynch me if not.
From inexperience I forgot about possibly claiming the fool.
Changed my post and tried to save myself from getting lynched.
Denied it.
Was caught red handed.
Confessed to it.
Spent the rest of my time trying to convince you guys that I'm not holding anymore secrets.

I believe taE hesCe, so I'm voting for Helgraf. It's not looking good for Chees, I admit. If you do lynch him and he really is a meme, as I suspect, then darn. BUT what if he actually is the seer? Maybe he said it truthfully at first, then took it back to regain anonymity, and it tragically misfired? If you lynch him and he is the seer, then WOE UNTO YOU, I say, WOE WOE WOE! WOE-TIDDLY-WOE! And if so, lynch Shades of Gray, because hesCe said that Shades was a grue.

On another note, man! This thread is a perfect example of mob psychology in action. Just look at yourselves! Mob is short for mobile vulgus, meaning "fickle people", and you certainly are that! A couple of pages ago you were howling for hesCe's blood. Then, a couple of posts later, you were howling for Helgraf's blood. Another couple of posts to swing the tide and you're howling for hesCe's blood again. Honestly, I feel like Reverend Hale in The Crucible, or that one guy in that one Twilight Zone episode--what was it called--um--The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street. And let me tell you, it's not a good feeling.

Werewolf games are all about mob psychology and having to make difficult choices and risking being turned on by your fellows for voicing unpopular opinions, or for any other number of reasons. If you're not comfortable with that, then it's probably not the game style for you.

Did you listen to me and the few others? No. Now we lost one of our team. Great. Ah well, just one.

I once pissed off one of the key people on my side in a WW game and they started to suspect me as being on the other team. At the time, they were forming an alliance with the Seer and Masons and stuff. This is the same person who later in the game started five successful bandwagons on five wolves in a row and won the game. If you're reading this, you know who you are...

Mustiado
2008-11-18, 03:46 PM
*sigh* Guys, I don't know why you're so suprised Chees was a Meme. By the time we'd switched back to him the second time, I was fairly sure of it, and lynched him anyway.

Why?

Because a player on your team willing to lie about something like that, and feed you potentially false information is just as dangerous as a wolf, especially if you're supposed to be depending on them. His accusation happened to go with one of my suspicions, so I followed it. Imagine how annoyed I was when he decided to backtrack.

I'm sure it was well-meaning, am even more sure it was self-serving, but you can't suffer someone providing false information to live. Especially if they're doing it with an unintentional goal to deceive. We villagers made the right call.

Fawkes
2008-11-18, 03:54 PM
Hear hear, Mustadio. As I said, we all knew there was a chance he was a meme. The chance to lynch a possible wolf was worth the risk of lynching a meme. Considering he was a liability, as Mustiado noted, I'd say it was a win-win.

Plus, I wanted to lynch him for the anagrams before I had any clue as to what his role was, so it's win-win-win for me.

Mustiado is right. If someone is being that damaging to your team, it doesn't really matter what their role PM stated; it doesn't matter what their alignment is meant to be. They're messing up your team. Wolf or Neutral or Villager, it stops being important, if they're a threat to your win.

Granted, it's not as good as someone who's really meant to be working against us, but it's not as bad as lynching someone who was being constructive.

Night 3 Ends.

'Twas the night before Day 4, when all through the house,
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The Blogz were all hung by the tubes with care,
in hopes that more readers soon would be there.

The Kitties were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of cheezburgers danced in their heads.
And Mamma cat in her basket and I in my cap
Had just settled down for an extended nap.

When out on the streets arose such a clatter,
A little kitteh got up to see what was the matter.
Away through the kitteh-door he flew like a flash,
tripped down the steps, knocked over the trash.

The man in the suit said, "Itteh bitteh little kitteh,
Why are you here alone? Where is your Comitteh?"

The kitteh looked up and said "They'z asleep,
I comez daon to check what u'z doin', u creep!"

"It's not polite to talk to adults like that,
Most rude, my child, not proper of a cat!"

"I'z not scared!" he says, "I fightz u all!
And den for Christmas, mom getz me a ball!"

"Congratulations, my kitteh, you found a rhyme,
but I'm afraid the sun rises, we're all out of time.
Let me introduce my little friends to you,
have you not heard of the one we call Grue?

They nom on your cheezburgers and mittens and paws,
and then they'll get rid of those who uphold the laws."

And as the man disappeared, the Grue had a feast,
one less person to remove from the list.
"Nom, nom, nom," the Grue itself said,
"And since it's daytime, it's now time for bed!"

Well, yes, but I kinda feel sorry for Helgraf for dying in a lot of games recently. That, and I don't think Cheese's point had anything behind it besides pointing at the closest wagon to him.

I didn't even read my role PM by then. I just hopped in while I had a computer nearby to cast a vote. I was busy moving at the time. Cross province moves are a hassle. Especially if you're going from Ontario to BC. Every damn system is different. The school system is VERY different.

I just got internet and cable on Monday. Before then I was busy helping my dad at his work, and other stuff. I only got on a computer in short times once or twice a week. I don't know, I wasn't keeping track.

I'm not really defending myself. I just wanted to clear that up so people wouldn't go "Oh, he was on the anti-blah wagon! He's obviously a wolf!"

Now that I have full computer access I can get on more often, but since I joined a school half way between semesters I'm going to be less active then I used to be. I might look online sometimes, but I'll be doing online homework (http://online.openschool.bc.ca/).

Hopefully that tells you my situation clearly. I haven't really had any computer access since November 1st, so this is really my first time on my home computer in Powell River. Well, online anyway. Monday and Tuesday I was using a school library computer.

Well, by that logic, he must be one of the enemy because the odds of him continuing to be a villager game after game get slimmer with each game (as expressed over a series of game).

Also, how is your point at me random, as opposed to "I saw his name in red in the thread a bunch of times"?

That, and he was on the EDK bandwagon that was the counter to the Shades of gray one. It was really close, too, lending it extra validity. This one is close as well-If the lynchee turns out to be a grue, we can see who was on the other side of the bandwagon, and see if any of them were also on the EDK one on turn two.

Face of Evil who was Gordon Freeman's brother was one day in an office typing on a computer. He got an email from his brother that said that Werewolves and Rick Astleys were attacking his place and aksed him for help so he went.

Face of Evil got his computer shut down and wet on the platform to go up to the roof of the building where he left his motorcycle and normal people close because he was in his office lab coat.

Face of Evil got on his motorcycl and said "its time for me to live up to my family name and face full life consequences" so he had to go.

Face of Evil ramped off the building and did a backflip and landed. He kept driving down the road and made sure there was no zombies around because he ddint have weapon.

The contrysides were nice and the plants were singing and the birds and the sun was almost down from the top of the sky. the mood was set for Face of Evils quest to help his brother where he was.

Face of Evil looked around the countrysides and said "its a good day to do what has to be done by me and help my brother to defeat the enemys".

Face of Evil was late so he had to drive really fast. A Blue Umbrella was hiden near by so when Face of Evil went by the umbrella came and wanted to give him a ticket. Here Face of Evil saw the first monster because the umbrella was posessed and had headcrabs.

"I cant give you my lisense umbrella" Face of Evil said

"Why not?" said the Blue Umbrella said back to Face of Evil.

"Because you are headcrab zombie!" so Face of Evil shot the Blue Umbrella in the head and drove off thinking "my brother is in trouble there" and went faster!

Day 4 Ends.

It was Peanut Butter Jelly Time in that beautiful village of Memesville. The Memes walked out of the PB&J House, calmly looking for a soft spot for a picnic. It was, of course, not meant to be. For you see... they found another suspicious person.

*sigh*

"It was you!" one Meme said.
"You're the one who's behind all this!".

"Calm down!" he replied. "I'm just an Umbrella! One who is blue! How could you possibly expect me to be some sort of H4XX0R?"

"OBJECTION! Yes, you are!" said another Meme. "Burn him!"

"Fool! What kind of an idiot are you to think YOU can take ME?"

"I AM A GREAT MEME! I am a graduate of the Fourth Campus of the Cthuloid Horror Academy for Naughty /b/oys!"

"The Cthul-- Hehehe.... HAHAHAHA!!!! I OWN THAT PLACE! Do you think you can remotely come close to killing me off? You fools! You can't. If I fall, ten more will take my place!"

"You heard him! You know what that means! He is--"

"WE are" The man corrected. "If you want to get rid of me, so be it! Nothing can stop me anyway. For we are Anonmous. We are Legion. We do not Forgive. We do not Forget. Expect us."

The Villagers gathered up and proceeded to surround the man, then took him before the authorities. The best thing they could do was lock him up for the time being.

"What an anti-climactic... GIANT ENEMY CRAB! NO! NOT AGAIN!"

Summary:
Blue Umbrella was lynched. He was Anonymous. He was Legion. He did not Forgive. He did not Forget. Expect Him.

However, you supported the bandwagon against Anonymous, which is something I doubt a smart grue who knows he's likely to be scried at some point would do, so you're off my suspect list for now.
AAAAA AAAA AAAAAAAA AA AAA AAA AA AAA AAAA. AAAAA AAAAAAAA.
Which puts Mechafox at the top of that list. Sorry Mechafox.

Order of events:

1. Cheese gets bandwagoned.
2. Cheese claims seer and declares Helgraf a grue.
3. Helgraf becomes the new bandwagon.
4. Phantom votes for Cheese.
5. Cheese backpedals and says he's not the seer.
6. Cheese gets re-bandwagoned.
7. Phantom votes for Helgraf.
8. A couple people vote for Phantom.
9. Cheese lies about lying and Reinholdt calls him out on it.
10. Phantom changes his point back Cheese.
11. Cheese tries to make us feel bad about lynching him.
12. Cheese gets even more votes.
13. Cheese gets SUPER-LYNCHED.

Phantom, you were always a little bit late. And that is thuthpithious.

I may be late, but you Mechafox, also have reasons why you should be lynched.

Iced didn't give any reasons, he just said I'm top of the list.

If you're gonna vote for me, the least you can do is tell me why.

Alright, I'm going to point at Mechafox, and not having looked all too deeply at who voted at who today(though I did see Mechafox's lynch idea), I'll tell you why. If you look at Mechafox's voting record, he has not voted at a wolf at all so far! He was also fine joining the cheese's bandwagon, however. I, at least, find that suspicious. Also, his logic against the next day vote is suspicious. Just because phantom is late doesn't mean is suspicious, just that he might be in a different timezone. I don't like the fact that your trying to use flawed logic(Plus, as long as his vote counted at the end of they day, he had time to change it)

It's not that he voted late, it's the he voted for Cheese after he claimed seer, and voted Helgraf after it was revealed Cheese was lying. That's weird.

And no, I haven't voted at a wolf yet. I also haven't voted for the competing bandwagons. The only bandwagons I've voted with at all are Cheese and Helgraf, and I voted for Cheese before it was cool. I haven't voted for the wolfs because I'm a meme, and no one clued me in onto any of these things.

Though he wasn't on my twofer list, I have to admit Griever has a point; ThePhantom's voting pattern is most uncouth.

Hey guys, I've received a PM that claims Griever to be a Grue. I'm guessing this is either the Seer, the Fool, or the Devil playing silly buggers. The player in question has stated my role correctly however, which makes me think he isn't the fool. So Griever is wither a Grue or being set up by one.

So this is what I propose we do. We lynch Grievers target today and see what role they have. If they're innocent, then I think Griever will have a lot of question sto answer. If they're guilty, then I think I may be in touch with the fool.

As such: The Phantom
