Whispers in the shadow and eyes in the dark speak of a looming
presence. For centuries the Indigo remained buried, hidden beneath
the ground in the very bowels of the land. But as time passed, it
plotted… planned… and leaked back into the world. After all, Darkness
itself cannot be contained and the stuff of shadows cannot be held.
For now, the Indigo is content to live through the soft flesh of
mortals, but it will break free. Oh, yes. It's time will come.
Long ago, the Indigo was trapped by a quorum of powerful wizards who
gave their lives to ensure the Darkness would not escape. Their
efforts kept the Indigo below ground for many centuries, but no longer
is the Darkness held. Longing for escape, a single cell of the Indigo
infected an unfortunate creature, and from there it grew. It now
lives on in the flesh and in the minds of unsuspecting individuals,
whose greed and ignorance allow the Indigo to spread throughout their
bodies until they become wholly immersed in the Darkness. To what
purpose the Indigo uses these creatures remains to be seen, but it is
patient, and it will be free.
