Hello all,

Just a quick question. If you alter self to an incorporal creature, do you go inc too? I am not sure how to read the rules on this.

Thanks in advance ^^

Alter self (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/alterSelf.htm):

You assume the form of a creature of the same type as your normal form.
...
You do not gain any supernatural special attacks, special qualities, or spell-like abilities of the new form. Your creature type and subtype (if any) remain the same regardless of your new form.

You can't alter self into an incorporeal form unless you're incorporeal yourself to start with.

Yeah, but incorporeal is a subtype, if I am the same type, but not same subtype, does that work?

[EDIT] Sorry, completely missed that line. Now I get it. Thank you. [EDIT]
