New Feats: Windsinger

You can use song or a wind instrument to compel the winds to obey you. The bard who possesses this feat is highly favored aboard a sailing vessel; indeed, a bard who demonstrates the ability to control the wind to some degree is usually given an officer's position aboard ship.

Prerequisites: Bardic music class feature, Perform (sing or wind instruments) 5 ranks.

Benefit: By expending a daily bardic music use, you can lull the winds around a single ship into well-tamed gusts. They continue to blow into the sails of the ship as normal for their speed, but their effects on the crew are one stage in intensity less (see Table 1--2 on page 23 of Stormwrack). Thus, a strong wind affected by this ability continues to propel the ship along as normal for a strong wind, but it only affects the crew as though it were a moderate wind.

You can also alter the direction of the wind by one compass point (from north to north-west or north-east, from south-west to west or south, etc.).

These effects last as long as the bard continues to perform his bardic music, plus 10 rounds after the music has ended.

The Kraken's Hoard

Escarion

[+2 Corrosive Longsword of Frost. Intelligent, Chaotic Neutral, Int 16, Wis 16, Cha 10, Speaks and Reads Common, Infernal, Abyssal and Draconic, 60ft. darkvision and hearing, Detect Magic at will, 10 ranks of Knowledge (arcana) and Spellcraft, Ego 14]

Escarion was originally created by the head of a small cult of Vecna (small meaning it consisted of the wizard and his imp familiar) as payment to the captain of the pirates who served him as mercenaries, and also to ensure the captain's loyalty.
The wizard had not considered the effect of the captain's personality upon the newly forged sword, and the next time he met his creation, he found that the sword had taken on many of the captain's personality traits. Escarion's existance now centred around wine, women, song and the joy of battle. He had a few problems with the wine until the captain found that brandy worked wonders on the leather of the sword's grip.
Pirate and sword made and excellent team; the knowledge of magic imbued into Escarion saved the captain from many potential ends, until, at last, he was slain by a kraken and Escarion was added to its horde. It was at this point that he developed a debilitating and rather bizarre fear of water.
Escarion was overjoyed when, decades later, the kraken was slain by a band of adventurers, Alaryas among them. He swore to serve her forever as weapon and ally in exchange for being granted the ability to sheathe himself in frost, and thus being able to form a buoyant layer of ice around himself, avoiding the possibility of an eternity in the deeps.
To this day, he is a faithful, though annoyingly and crudely flirtatious, companion.

Kraken's Barb
As the name suggests, the Kraken's Barb is made from one of the short spikes from a Kraken's tentacles, pierced and threaded with simple string. Arcane runes carved into the barb bring forth some of the kraken's power.
Anyone wearing the Kraken's Barb as an amulet gains the ability to breathe underwater. In addition, they may use Control Weather or Control Winds once per day.
