The Dark Mother is the goddess of evil. She is the patron of an evil civilization of witches. This civilization, Taria, is much like Thay, only organized and united, facing stronger enemies.

The Dark Mother is a woman who comes from another universe. Billions of years ago she was a cool pristine embodiment of good and innocence. However, as the incredibly long centuries went by she slowly became corrupted through the evil she constantly fought. She has ruled this Astral Realm, just like Kudiyama and Amon once did.... However, she has grown to hate the now benevolent Amon with a passion, and cultists who venerate and worship the Serpetn God Kudiyama may defect to the Dark Mother, should the Serpent God fail to awaken in the Astral Realm.

The Dark Mother has destroyed countless worlds on the Overworld, putting to death entire nations, races, religions and philosophies. She intends to corrupt the entire female population of the Astral Realm to become her daughters by the spread of a great plague, she calls the Dark Mothering. Those effected by the Dark Mothering slowly become hags or worse.

Dark Mother plots to transform all men into undead, and to pour her divine essence into the core of the Astral Realm so she may become even more powerful.(More than An Over goddess) Should she succeed, all the Incarnates (the Powers) of the Overworld will be like ants to her.
