The Cat in the Sack - Round 4

Time for another random game I think! This one is based on a simple little card game I have called the Cat in the Sack, I've taken out the betting mechanic and gone for a straight card game, so let's see how this works.

Rules
- Each player has 10 cards:
* Cats numbered 15, 10, 5, 1, -3, -5 and -10.
* A Rabbit numbered 0.
* Two Dogs with no numbers, one big and one small.
* The Big Dog gets rid of the highest value Cat card in the sack.
* The Small Dog chases away the Cat with the biggest negative value in the sack.

- Every round each player PM's me with the cat, rabbit or dog they will put in the sack.
- Once each player has put a card in the sack, the cards will be totalled up into a points value and removed from the game.
- The player that put in the highest card will win the points for that round. If more than one player put in that high value card then the points will go to the one that played the Rabbit. If there are two Rabbits it will go to the player who played the Small Dog. If no-one did it will go to the player of the biggest negative card. Yes, it's that random. :smalltongue:
- Be aware that this could result in negative points being awarded.
- The game will end after Round 10, when all cards have been used.
- I'd advise you to keep a record of which cards you've used and which ones you haven't, it'll cut down on mistakes.

I'd like to keep this game short and sweet, so I only want 6 players, and I want to be able to do a round roughly every 48 hours, so if you can't be sure to PM me a card in that time then I'd advise you not to sign up.

I'll start if/when we get enough players.

Okay, we have six players, so lets get this started!

PM me your choice of card for Round 1, this round ends Sunday whether I have all the PM's or not. I'll just pick a card at random otherwise.

You can use the thread for boasting, bluffing, alliances and general banter. Hell, you could even be honest, if that took your fancy!

No, not at all! Sometimes its the sneakiest thing you can do!
Seeing as its the first turn, and I don't know what sort of people I'm playing with there is NO WAY I'm gonna play the highest card in my hand. I'm guessing at least one person will play a dog of some sort just to fool with everone. Probably no rabbits - I mean who will want to play a rabbit on the first go?


Edit: Oh and are we going to find out who played what, or just a set of all the cards that were played?

I will reveal all the cards that were played, but not by who. The exception to this is the winning card, which will obviously show who wins the hand.

How do you handle that? Do randomly pick one of their cards to put in?

However, I will make it clear who didn't put in an action, and which card they played, to still allow those of a tactical persuasion to do their thing.

Hmm I gave a card second round. I did in fact give a ten so it wasn't random.

So todays doesn't make sense. If it ws random second round when I did play the card(The same one in fact), and is a random card third round when I didn't play the card... what gives?

I only have one action from you all game, a cat you played in Round 1. I can't really say where that PM ever went, but I can honestly say I never received it. That's why it's been random the last few rounds. I'm happy for you to carry on playing, but I haven't received anything to work from.

Androgial - You are completely right, I messed that up. :smalleek: Still, a positive round of points for you, so hopefully not much damage done.
