A sign hangs over the door of the two story white building, it is the picture of a pure white sword facing longs ways and the words over it, "The White Blade Inn" the words are marked by a holy symbol of- Either: Tyr (FR Standard), Re-horakhty (FR Mulhordia and Pharaonic), Heironeous (DnD Standard), Athena (Olympian), or Heimdall (Asgardian), beyond those use best judgement. the door is a large wooden door, almost 8 feet high, and about four feet wide. The walls are white ash wood, extremely well kept. The outside is well tended and has an assorted amount of roses and vines climbing up its side for visual effect. The door has the words "Welcome all who seek rest" on it. -Outside Description

As you swing the door open you see well cleaned wooden floors, a number of tables in a circle around a small stage and a number of the tables are taken. At the far end of the inn a serving bar. A wood lined glass case on one side of the room stands by a staircase, it has a what appears to be a suit of full plate and at the right hand of the full plate a sword, white as snow. There is a sign over it saying, "Replicas." -Inside Description Downstairs

As you go up the stairs you see a few paintings, but it is sparsely decorated, the hall is long and narrow and has a nice clean floor but that's about it. There are doors on either side leading to a number of rooms. -Inside Description Hallway

As you walk into the room, you see a small chest on the end of a bed, a oak bedside table, a well-made lamp, a bed with a clean blue blanket and a fluffy pillow, and lastly a small table and chair for you to sit at and do anything that requires writing or reading. -Inside Description Room.

The White Blade Inn has been in the town for three very short generations. And I mean short. It was originally founded by Acaan Tianth, a retired (long story short, he got old, something happened and he felt too guilty to go on) paladin who wished to have an inn to host all manners of explorers, adventurers, and travelers on their way thru the small town he settled in. The Paladin originally had his armor and weapon on display and would talk about them proudly, his weapon, for which the tavern is now named, was a magical mithral blade called White. Acaan soon died and passed the Inn on to his son. However as was ceremonial, the blade and armor of Acaan were buried with him. Naturally his greedy son, whose name was Amile, made replicas and placed them on display, saying they were real. He soon died of mysterious circumstances (some say he was killed by Acaan for his own greed.).

The White Blade Inn was then passed on (legally speaking.) to Amile's son, Athian, but it was run by Amile's wife, Meratta for four years before Athian took over when he was seventeen. Athian came into running a budding business with flying colors, he made deals, swaps, and worked hard. He relied very little on his business assistant (a girl named Maria, about 1 year older then Athian, who Meratta suggested. Is Meratta trying to set them up? yeah.). And then something very different happened. He heard the paladin's call. He was told by his god (the one who's symbol is on the outside of the tavern.) that his duty was to protect the small frontier town and the other towns around it. Athian, as a good and devout servant of his god, did so, and Maria was thrust into a greater position. It proved lucky that Maria actually understood business and things have gone on from there for two years.

NPCS:
Athian Tianth:
Aristocrat 2/Paladin 3 Lawful Good Human
Athian Tianth, when he is home, is the inn keeper of the White Blade and is always its owner, Athian is smart, but... oblivious. Maria tried asking him out once and of course, he missed it entirely. Generally, its best not to assume Athian is actually listening to a conversation. As a young, and somewhat inexperienced, paladin Athian will eagerly seek conversation with any paladin that comes thru town, even one dedicated to another deity.
Maria Pinecar:
Bard 1 Neutral Good Human
Maria is a smart young performer who helps, actually primarily does it herself now and days, Athian with running the inn. Hired in by Athian's Mother Meratta as a "business assistant" it was supposed to be a set up, a set up which is moving in Meratta's opinion way too dang slow. Maria is also a common performer (story teller.) at the inn.
Meratta Tianth:
Commoner 1 Neutral Human
Meratta is the mother of Athian and is nosey, arrogant, and pompous, she could be the reason behind Amile's personality, then again birds of a feather... Anyway Meratta manipulates her son Athian into doing what she wants. Or has rather, because ever since his call to paladinship he has ignored her more and more and is starting to see her as she is.

Adventure Hooks: 5 Adventure Hooks for The White Blade Inn
1. The inn is being haunted by the greedy ghost of Amile and Athian must appease him with ten gold per month. Athian, being too novice of a paladin, has put out a reward for anyone who can put the ghost to rest.
2. One of the hired hands made off with a valuable painting of Acaan that is supposed to hang behind the serving table.
3. Maria believes a woman who recently moved into town is attempting to gain control of the Inn magically.
4. Athian has put out for a large reward for anyone who can find his grandfather's sword and armor, as they should rightfully be pasted down to the next paladin in line (AKA him.), Acaan's body was buried in a stone coffin somewhere in the nearby woods and is guarded by a number of good creatures.
5. A young woman has come into town claiming to be Acaan's granddaughter, Meratta wants someone to discover if this is true (Athian and Maria have accepted it and Athian is willing to turn over half ownership to the woman but has been stayed by his mother to wait.)

Adventure Hooks that are related to the members of the White Blade's staff but have nothing to do with the actual inn:
1. Acaan's spirit has returned with dire, and impossible to understand (literally.), warnings for Athian, anyone who can successfully interpret the ghost will be given free stays at the inn for life as well as a good amount of gold.
2. Maria has heard rumors of an ever-slumbering dragon somewhere nearby, anyone who can confirm or refute these claims will be given a fair reward.
3. The local guard has arrested Maria for the murder of a woman, she has hired the PCs to prove she is innocent (as Athian is far out of town.)
4. Amile's grave has been dug up, and a reward is out to find who did it is now available (thou the verdict is still out on wether or not they want to reward the grave digger or punish him is still out.).
5. Rumor has it that the man courting Maria (and failing, but still.) is a ghost.

Signature Item: White Blade:
A fake sword is in the glass case for it and the fake suit of armor, it looks like Mithral and is stunning but it is none the less fake. As there is a sign above it saying, "Replicas". The history behind the original however is quiet interesting:
About three hundred years ago a celestial called "Ageran" landed on the planet with his sword, a mithral from the heavens themselves. He fought demon after demon until it was time for him to return the heavens and he pasted his sword onto a human Paladin named Dorin, this being about 200 years ago.

Dorin took the sword to the mythical Fountain of Life, imbuing it with qualities that destroyed the unliving who he was dedicated destroying (Those who have Libiris Mortis, Positive Energy Burst.). He fought with it for about 50 years and then passed it on to another member of his order.

It was pasted down until it was lost about 100 years ago until Acaan found it in a grove on the edge of the frontier. This being about 15 years ago. Acaan adventured with it for about five years and then retired. He kept it in his tavern for about three years and then buried it with him when he died.

Possible History Info:
The History Behind Retirement: A few suggestions for what could be the Family's darkest secret.
First Possible History: Adultery: In this option the reason why Acaan retired is adultery. He cheated on his wife with a fellow adventurer named Lirana, she was beautiful, kind, and he was in love. But the fact remained that he was already married so he faked injury and left the band of adventurers he had adventurers with ever since he was young.
Second Possible History: Betrayal: Acaan accidentally sold out his fellow adventurers and after freeing them, left the group in sorrow and shame.
Third Possible History: Broken Limbs: Acaan broke his leg and was unable to get it healed, and so was forced to leave the party.
Fourth Possible History: Accident: Acaan's hand accidently slipped and he accidently cut off the hand of the party bard, Murin Stonethunder (Dwarf). In his regret he used half of his money to pay for a magical replacement and left the party.
Fifth Possible History: No More: A great fight sent the part heading in different directions and Acaan did not have the heart to join a new party.
Absolute Zero Possible History: DM: The DM may have devised another history to fit specifically into his world or history.

I don't suppose his WIFE would set him up with anyone? I think you mean to say his mother (you also call her his mother later on).

Interesting adventure hooks by the way.

Ah yes, slight glitch up there, I was still referring to Amile as He. Thank you for the comment BTW

I like it, Sad about the family though. Where is the Inn located, in general?

Hmm.... Probably somewhere in or near a non-monster inhabited woods. Probably frontier but it'd really work anywhere there is either a high threat level or low law enforcment level (to explain why Athian has the ability to keep running the business.) area.
