New feats to get the greatsword fighter closer to not crap.

Power Strike
Prerequisites: bab +4, power attack, cleave, weapon focus[any twohanded]
Benefit: Whenever you make a full attack that utilizes power attack you may add an additional d6 of damage to the first attack.
Special: fighter bonus feat, may only be used with a two handed weapon

Biting Strike
Prerequisites: bab +6, power strike
Benefit: When ever you make an attack that gains bonus damage from powerstrike you may Ignore 1/2 of the targets hardness or 1/2 of any damage reduction that is not x/- on that attack only.
Special: fighter bonus feat, may only be used with a two handed weapon

Focused strike
Prerequistes: bab +12, biting strike, weapon specialization(any twohanded).
Benefit: When you make a full attack you may choose to forego all additional attacks beyond the first to make a single attack @ your highest bab with a +1 bonus to hit and + 1d6 damage, for each attack you sacrificed.
Special: fighter bonus feat, must be used with a two handed weapon.

Thoughts, suggestion, refinements?

Greatsword fighter is among the best, if not the best already, because of Power Attack and the various multipliers you can get for it. Look into Leap Attack and Shock Trooper, for instance. You could even go for a dip in a Barbarian variant to get a full attack on a charge, to make it even more powerful. Fighters (well, combat specialists in general) have no shortage of options for making Power Attacks lethal as hell, it's other areas that they hurt.

Power Strike

This is entirely useless. It could concievably be useful at first level in limited situations, but the prerequisites finish it off.

Possibly more useless than the first in many situations, and having it only apply to the first attack (and requiring a full attack, as well as a waste of a feat on Power Strike) makes it among the 'last choice' feats anyway.

Is this a joke thread about how much fighters suck and how many useless trap feats there are for them? I'm sorry if this post appears hostile, but these feats aren't useful, and because of the wealth of powerful options for two-handed Power Attack builds, there isn't much you can do to make them useful since it's so unnecessary to enhance Power Attack builds. Even if Power Attack builds really needed help, all three of these feats combined into one and made availible at low levels would probably not be worthwhile.

FMArthur's right. These feats are underpowered, particularly for the level their prereqs require.

And yeah, greatsword fighters are far from useless.

Rogues yell "SNEAK ATTACK!"

Greatsword Fighters yell "GREATER WEAPON FOCUS-GREATER WEAPON SPECIALIZATION-IMPROVED CRITICAL-POWER ATTACK!"

They might also just yell "ÜBA-CHARGE-AH"
