Ok, i know that a few days ago, i posted looking for “realistic” weapons to use in the 1930's.
That has gone out the window as of today.
My buddy Dave started running his game today, and it was a GREAT game, lots of fun, some good mysterious mysteries, and everyone got there moment to shine.
The characters.
Hubert Hughs, a billionaire industrialists who's haunted by the part he plays in a war 5,000 years in his own future.
David Courtney, Accountant, Mass Murderer
Joe Kharn, The offspring of Lenny from of Mice and Men, and an Ork.
And
Artemis Jones, NPC Sidekick, Insane levels of Charisma, social stats, and regeneration.
Courtney and Kharn are higher by Hughs to be his bodyguards in to the American southwest, while he looks for the cause of the 2 year long dust storm west of the Mississippi
The world is the same as ours up until 1931, when a giant dust storm overtook America west of the Mississippi, and super powered beings slowly began to emerge. Hughs has employed a half dozen or so of these powers to escort him to the SW to see why his industrial farms have been out of communication.

I won't bore any one with the whole session (yet) but the turning point was when the train we were on hit a DRAGON, or well, a giant four legged lizard in the path.
The team of bodyguards did a VERY effective job dropping the lizard beast, and got many, many hero points as the GM was using using them him self to try to make the dragon more effective.
He's a GM who's done this before, but I think the make up of the teams powers threw him through a loop, as high levels of density, Corrosion, and Intangibility were used to make short work out of the dragon, who promptly ran away.
The problem being, that ALL the fighting was done in close, and as soon as the dragon took flight to run away, we had to let it get away, as there were no characters with movement powers, or ranged weapons.
This is a gap, i feel like closing. I know a few days ago i posted about wither i should take a character with mundane science (a batman type with many, many gadgets), Or a Super Scientist, in the vein of Farnsworth, Stark, Luthor or VonDoom.
I did decide to take the Superscience, knowing that it would mark me out among the “special populace of the world”
My question is, How dose one build a mecha, is it best to make it as a Device, as a Construct with no INT, CHA, and WIS score?
We are at PL 2 (and frankly im surprised at how much you can do at power level 2) and im working with 6 xp and a one session re wright. Has any one ever made a man sized mecha for M&M before, can any one suggest a resource?
It also looks as though hughs MAY begin a private war with the Van Sweringen brothers...
There is a little mater of a gernade launcher going off in a luggage car...

If you have to pilot the mecha, then it becomes more of a battlesuit, in which case it should be a device.

If on the other hand, the Mecha operates autonomously, it would be better bought as a construct type minion.

If you are just trying to help the whole team chase a Dragon, consider purchasing a vehicle instead, (I believe there are rules for customizing one), which would cost equipment points, and is far cheaper.

Good points,

I think ill be going the device option... I want to build it in moduals, first the gun, for fire power. Then the chassie for protection/movement...

The Dragon its self isnt what im worried about what the dragon represents...
If hes going to pull out an IMAGE that has that much power behind it as the first thing we encounter... the paranoid in me is convinced that were going to need autofire and penetration...
