Not exactly what I had in mind (mostly because as you said, that flower isn't really dangerous), so if you have a little patience I'll give a hint for now, and give you the floor if it doesn't work out.
Hint: this flower has swords! (Literally.)

OK, I'm thinking someone with a name that means Flower or Blossom or something, armed with swords. The only plant I remember with swords was the Sword Tree from No Cure for the Paladin Blues. And that's offline, so not eligible for this quiz.

Or I'm just forgetful and can't remember the sword-flower. That's possible too.
