GLoG XIV: Where Bad Puns Go To Die.

[Reinholdt]

"Ah yes sir. Many cats like fish sir."

"But as for Magtok, sir. He's here right now sir. Being held in the detention wing sir. I tried to let him out sir, but he said there wasn't enough conflict sir. I didn't understand it myself sir. Would you like me to take you to him, sir?"

[Kaelaroth]

Kaela blinks. And blinks. Daddy is my daddy! Can I has a fish? I is not a catty-katty-kit. Will you's been my daddy? He looks a bit sleepy, and tries to nuzzle Butler.

[Reinholdt]

Butler's a little confused, but takes the nuzzles and calmly pets Kaela. Not really sure how to respond to the question, he does what every butler does. Say, "Yes, sir. Yes sir." to both questions.

Still petting Kaela with one hand, he grabs the fish he was getting ready for Kaela with the other and hands it to the pink thing.

Xavier walks into the kitchen. Hello?

[Kaelaroth]

Did that just happen? OMG! Izza Kaela dweam come twue!
As, Butler, the wonderful, shmexy Butler, just adopted a doomsday device, which, as we speak, is shapeshifting into a baby catboy. With pink fur. Daddy! Deep down, of course, he knows he isn't his real daddy. But his real daddy doesn't talk to him. The fish is absorbed into Kaela, as he morphs, giggling.

[Reinholdt]

I, uh, I just did what? Total win.

Butler smiles as Xavier enters the kitchen. "Hello sir."

Butler watches as Kaela changes form. "That...that's incredible sir." He smiles at the strange pink shapeshifting doomsday device.

[Vespe Ratavo]

Vespe appears behind Butler, looking at Kaela. ...Butler? Since when did you have a kid? What have you been doing at the Taverna? Wink wink nudge nudge say no more.

[Kaelaroth]

Daddy! Calls the baby catboy, smiling widely, joyous, as he crawls towards the aforementioned older, but not that much wiser, catboy, giggling. For note, instead of a loincloth, he has a nappy.

[celtois]

Hello. Do you know where I might find some help for Zoe? She is hurt.

[Reinholdt]

Butler looks at Vespe. "I really haven't done all that much at the tavern sir."

He looks at Xavier. "I'm afraid I don't know sir, besides the infirmary."

Then Butler reaches down and picks up baby Kaela, cradling it in his arms. "Of course sir. Whatever you wish sir."

[Vespe Ratavo]

Victoria floats over to the door, and opens it. Yes?

"Not all that much?" Come on, what's her name? Or is this some sort of strange cat-boy adoption thing?

[Kaelaroth]

Kaela sighs happily, instantly picked up, and lovingly cradled, and, with little, slightly furry arms, clutches his new daddy hopefully, with the tight little grip young children (or, fake young children) so quickly develop. Daaaddy.

[celtois]

Thanks butler I'll try there. Xavier leaves to the infirmary.

[Reinholdt]

"Um... I don't know, sir. What's your name, sir?" He asks of Kaela, holding close in a loving embrace. Apparently he likes children.

[Kaelaroth]

My name is Kaela. You is my daddy... Although there're three full stops, there's a hint of a question mark. As if seeking affirmation, the adorable child is, as he clutches his father, and mumbles something. Shleepily.

[Vespe Ratavo]

That depends. Are you going to try and kill any of me again?

[Rebonack]

Laraek, still in the rose garden, finds his information gathering temporarily thwarted by a stray temporal anomaly.

I lean in a little closer to 'Mint'.

And wave one hand in front of her face a few times.

Then sigh. Dead time, I think. And right when I was about to get some useful information, too. It figures, doesn't it?

I breath out a frosty sigh. Now what? I don't think this is- quite the sort of place I should be in. I don't like being caged. Maybe- I should just return to the lobby?

[Reinholdt]

"Of course Kaela sir. I'll be your Daddy, sir. Whatever you need, sir. But for now, we need to get you off to bed, sir." Butler will try to take Kaela to a room so he can get some sleep.

[Vespe Ratavo]

Ah. Proceed. Victoria allows the robot in.

Vespe looks at wittle Kaela and smiles. Aww, is a cute wittle Kaewa. He blinks. Am I speaking in babyspeak again? Sorry. He is a very cute baby, though.

[Kaelaroth]

Kaela will attempt to get to Butler's room, gesturing sleepily whenever they pass it, eyes filled with hope, or perhaps joy, when he sees Vespe like him too.
...
Should one go in there, they might find a little crib near Butler's bed.

[Reinholdt]

Butler heads in and carefully puts Kaela in the crib. "You go to sleep like a good Kaela, sir. Daddy will be right here, watching, sir." Butler does indeed go to his bed, sit, and watch.

[Kaelaroth]

Kaela, smiling, knowing that his daddy's here, curls up, sucking his thumb, under the pale pink blanket, and sleeps. Really sleeps, not just pretending.

Laraek slinks into the great room, having generally poked around the base for some time now. There are frozen foot-prints all over the place now.

Well- maybe I should just leave then. This doesn't seem like it's a place that's very well suited to me at all. And I'm just desecrating everything that I touch. It'll probably take them ages to clean up the mess I left.

[Reinholdt]

Butler will stay there and keep watch, sipping on Nuka-Cola, and eventually falling asleep himself.

Judy wakes up on the couch. How'd I get here?

[Vespe Ratavo]

Vespe pops over to Judy. Beats me. Where were you before you were on the couch?

Mint is wandering...

Zoe appears, and tries to drop onto Mint's head.
Just . . . because.

[Rebonack]

Laraek isn't so much wandering as he is heading for the door. Though the two people out in the lobby manage to catch his attention.

There! More people. I can ask them, right? What is they don't want to talk to me? Maybe they're busy? But- I need to know. I need to know for sure. So I cautiously approach the pair on the couch. "Aauh, excuse me? Could I ask a question about this organization?"

Mint shrieks when the dragon lands on her bunny ears, she tries to pull it off.
