James Brown as Batman: the Soulcaster
I am ditching my previously held ideas about what the next character that I play will be and putting my thoughts and effort behind this thought: Soulcaster. Now what is the best way to go about doing this build.
Build mark I:
Human Wizard(Generalist)3/Incarnate(Chaos)3/SoulCasterX
Str10 Dex 12 Con14 Int 17 Wis 12 Cha 10
Feats: Scribe scroll, Quicken Spell, Empower spell, Midnight Metamagic, Bonus Essentia, Practiced Caster, Thesis Spell(enervation), and more metamagic out from there.
Downsides over Straight Wizard - Lose 3 caster levels to Incarnate
Upsides - Meldshaping, Save DC increasing abilities, Better Midnight metamagic
Not as good as IotSFV or Incantatrix, but I think that I will be able to hold my own after a while, Just 3 caster lvls hurts, and Unless there is another arcanist in the party i can't specialize (except maybe div ban evo) or miss out on some prime stuff.
Any thoughts????My homebrew

Re: James Brown as Batman: the Soulcaster
What about a less cheesey way to do it. Besided the PRC specifically says LVL 2 Spells, Precocious apprentic gives you 1. That and the feat is some serious cheese when it comes to prc'ing especially gishing.

Re: James Brown as Batman: the Soulcaster
You can qualify for Soulcaster with 2 Incarnate levels. That's without even a Shape Soulmeld or Open Chakra feat.
Is losing a 3rd caster level really worth the Expanded Capacity class feature? You can call me Draz.

Re: James Brown as Batman: the Soulcaster
^Good call. For the time being we are assuming the GM would not allow the cheesyness. I read over the requirements again, it requires 3rd lvl spells, 6 ranks in knowledge(arcana), incarnum spellcasting(not midnight metamagic like i thought), ability to shape 3 soulmelds and bind a soulmeld to a chakra(gained @third lvl). it seems the faster rout is wizard3/incarnate 1, I don't even need incarnate lvl 2. Wizard 3/incarnate 1, 3 feats, and 6 skill points does it. And the whole build only loses 1 caster lvl. and if, for Shape soulmeld, I choose a totemist meld, there isn't even a redundancy. Although open least chakra is still redundant in the long run, but what ever.
So Build Mark II
Human
Wizard(specialist in something) 3/Incarnate(good or chaotic)1/soulcasterX
Feats:Incarnum Spellcasting, Shape soulmeld, Open least Chakra, bonus essentia, Quicken spell, Midnight metamagic, empower spell, and so forth
You know what I just realized, Totemist meets the meldshaper requirements faster than Incarnate, because their totem chakra opens @ lvl2, as opposed to Incarnates crown chakra opening @ 3. But when splurging feat on it, incarnate gets more essentia (Incarnate20 = 26 essentia, Totemist20 = 20 essentia), so the game swings in its favor when you burn feats. Now if only I could work Psion, and cleric into the build, quadruple gish for the win.My homebrew
