GLoG 20/XX: Twenty Times the Awesome

Nodding, Nikolai hopped off to the greatroom, her eyes flitting to Irene and Faust for a moment before she turned on her heels and waited for Nora.

You believe you're called Irene? What an odd thing to say. Faust mused.

[Admiral_Kelly]

Nora enters the greatroom carrying the tray containing the two bowls of soup. "Hello." She says to Faust and Irene as she walks to a table and places the tray down.

Irene rubs the back of her neck, eyes darting nervously. "Yeah... I'm not entirely sure about my name. But it's what was written on the tag."

She nods to Nora and Nikolai as they come in.

Following Nora, Nikolai seemed to be sticking rather close, her eyes downward, her face flushed, though she would peek up at Irene and Faust every so often.

You have no recollection of being called by a different name, or any name, before you had a tag? Faust asks.

Irene keeps her eyes downcast. "I don't really remember much of anything right now."

Nora smiles at Nikolai again, pulling a chair out for her.

"Thank you." Nikolai smiled in a way that would be best described as "=D" and took the chair, pleasant as could be.
"How long have you been in GLoG, Ms. Nora?"

Faust frowns slightly. Very strange.

[Reinholdt]

"Well it's not exactly a picnic." She frowns, thinking, trying to remember stuff. Doesn't work too well. So she pays attention to the other people instead.

[Admiral_Kelly]

"Quite awhile - that is, if you don't the four month I was away." She says, moving Nikolai's soup off the tray and setting it in front of her, then setting her spoon next to her bowl.

Gingerly, Nikolai picked up the spoon, but, though she was hungry, hesitated. Her interest has been piqued.
"Four months? Where were you? What were you doing? That is, if its alright for me to ask..."

Faust seems to be out of conversation and glances down to his magazine.

[Admiral_Kelly]

Nora moves across from her, taking her bowl and setting it near her before sitting down. "Trying to resolve a stupid conflict only to get involved in the fighting." Nora sighs.

"Oh." Nikolai placed her spoon into her soup, stirring it lightly. She didn't want to start eating before Nora did.
"I'm sorry, that must have been frustrating."

[Admiral_Kelly]

"I don't wish to get in depth about it." She says, tilting her head down and looking a little distressed by the thought.

Her face flushing with shame at having asked, Nikolai finally took a spoonful od soup and plopped the spoon in her mouth.

Nora frowns. She didn't mean to put a damper on the mood. After eating a few spoonfuls of soup in silence, the lizard woman asks "Is this your first time here?"

Sucking on the spoon a few moment longer, Nikolai shook her head, red-brown hair touseling.
"No." She pulled the utensil from her mouth.
"Mr. Butler invited me a few weeks ago, and I just took him up on his offer a few nights ago. F-" She glanced over her shoulder momentarily at Faust, and then back at her soup.
"Rayd and I have decided we'd like to stick around for a bit though, see what its like, if it fits our lifestyle."

Faust glances over at Nikolai and Nora, smiling, and then goes back to reading his magazine.

"Is Rayd your husband?" Nora asks.

In a matter of seconds, Nikolai's face went from a bright peachy pink to a dark crimson red.
"I, uh, he...no!" Collecting herself, Nikolai stirred her soup slowly.
"Its, er, complicated, to say the least."

Irene grins at Nikolai. "Complicated, huh?" She stops grinning once she realizes she has no idea about complicated relationships. She pokes a bit at her stew.

Flustered, the necrophiliamancer remained silent and ate her soup.
Because she's kinda shy about stuff like that...

Irene recognizes she made a mistake. "Sorry, I didn't mean..." She gets flustered herself and grabs her empty bowl. "Well all done! It was a pleasure meeting you two." She desperately tries to back out of the situation by going to drop off the dishes in the kitchen and leave the room.

Nikolai lifted a hand, as if to stop Irene.
"No, its o-" But the catgirl was already gone, and so, feeling kind of silly, she dropped her hand, looking to Faust in an almost confused manner.

Faust sighs at Nikolai and returns to reading his magazine.

Hesitantly, she stood, taking small, quick steps til she was standing infront of him. Bending over, Nikolai peered at his magazine.
"Er, what are you pretending to read?"

I'm not pretending to read anything, darling. I AM reading an engaging article on the growing influence of retail chains on smaller villages. As if to prove his point, Faust points to the article.
