Samuel Haight: Why Does Everyone Hate Him? (Noob Question)

You see, I haven't been playing the WoD that long, so I get confused whenever somone mentions what I guess is a canonical NPC.

That wouldn't be so bad, except I have no idea why everyone suffers an almost perceptable shudder when they mention this guy by the name of Sam Haight, so I don't know what he did that was so bad, and what to avoid in his example.

So help a noob out here, eh? Tell me why Sam Haight is so hated.

Was he the Mage who got Embraced into a Vampire while retaining his magic, developed Werewolf powers, then became a Wraith, all while toting expensive monster-Hunting equipment?

if so, that should explain it. He was the Mary Sue of all Mary Sues, which is saying something in the WoD just by itself.
