    Default Character voices: Ver. 2.0

Hey, looked back through the threads to make sure no one had started one of these things in a bit, and I just realized something about the characters voices:

All of the MitD's lines could be said in Johnny Bravo's voice and still make perfect sense.

(For those of you who don't know who Johnny Bravo is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Bravo)

So, discuss, and tell us what people you think the characters voices are.

I still like most of the choices I picked last time:

    Brett Butler
    Tara Strong
    Cree Summer
    / Billy West
    Jim Cummings
    Chris Latta (sadly deceased)
    Tress MacNeille
    Maurice LaMarche
    Rob Paulsen
    Craig Ferguson
    mc chris
    Frank Welker
    Tia Carrere
But as you can see, the actor I picked for the MITD is no longer with us. So yeah, Johnny Bravo would be a pretty funny choice.

Another idea: he should have the voice of GIR from Invader Zim. It would fit his personality pretty well.

Although no one will ever top Welker for villain-voices, I could also hear Mark Hamill in that role. He made a pretty funny Joker in the DCAU.

Oh, and Gilbert Gottfried as the Oracle. Don't ask me why, I just always hear that obnoxious voice when I see that character.

Redcloak should be voiced by Christopher Lee or someone like that.

    Michael Palin could be Shojo

I'd think Christopher Lee doing MitD in his most intimidating manner would be even funnier. John Cleese doing Redcloak with a pronounced English accent would also be welcome.

Considering that is the only canon voice actor, yeah, Jamesy for Xykon.
    Where'd that come from?

O-Chul has to be voiced by Jeff Bennett, who's proven his affinity for Chuck Norricity as Kyle Katarn. (Not Chuck himself, cos his voice isn't that great)

And Belkar obviously must be voiced by Joe Pesci. Accept no substitute!

Like I said some time before.

    Samuel Jackson
Mario Cantone (two years ago I'd pick Heath Ledger)
    John Rhys-Davies
Paul Bandey (anyone played Dark Messiah? He voiced the Demon Overlord)
    & Shia LeBoeuf
    Craig Sechler
    Keira Knightley
    Vin Diesel
    Cate Blanchett
    Angelina Jolie
    Tom Hanks
    ???
Dwight Schulz (voiced Hox in Escape from Butcher Bay)
    Shojo - Ian McKellen
Hinjo - Tercelin Kirtley (voiced Sareth in Dark Messiah)
    O-Chul - Liam Neeson
    Bozzak - Diedrich Bader
    Celia - Zooey Deschanel
    Eugene Greenhilt - Wes Johnson
Mr. Rodriguez the Lawyer - Eric Idle

For some reason I imagine all the characters have very high, kinda squeaky voices, I guess because of the whole stick figure thing. Or maybe they're all being voiced by the same guy doing different voices, like most of Homestar Runner or a guy reading to his kids.

    But attempting to ignore that:

    Phil LaMarr
    Tara Strong
Maria Canals (who voices Hawkgirl in JL)
Norio Wakamoto (I know what the problem with that is, and I don't care..)
    :everyone else: Billy West.

Start of Darkness. There is a strong implication that he sounds very much like James Early Jones.

    "Luke, I am your father."

    "Simba, you have forgotten me."

    "This is CNN."

These are some of Xykon's quotes from the book.

I see Elan, Nale, and MITD with high-pitched, nasally voices, but not necessarily the others, especially Roy, Xykon, V, Durkon, Shojo, and strangely enough, Miko.

How about Lou Ferrigno for ?
Not only is he referenced in the comic itself, Thog acts like the Hulk.

As for Azure City, bring up a list of anime voice actors and think about who has acted in a role similar to character in the comic.

The way I picture the voices:

    Roy Greenhilt - Phil LaMarr
Haley Starshine - Grey Delisle (with her more childlike-voice, similar to that of Vicki from the Fairly Oddparents and Skie/Nalia from Baldur's Gate series)
Varsuuvius - Jeff Bennett (channeling Xan from Baldur's Gate series, just less gloomy and depressed sounding)
Belkar Bittlerleaf - John Mariano (doing Tiax's voice, just with less shouting and not as high pitch)
Elan & Nale - Billy West (Fry from Futurama)
Durkon - Bill Farmer (voiced Yeslick, the elderly wise dwarf warrior/cleric in BG)
Xykon - Frank Welker (perfect choice, really)
MitD - Tom Kenny (doing Eduardo from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends)
Redcloak - Legendary Frog/Joseph Blanchette (watch The One Ring To Rule Them All online series; he voices Wayne the Goblin)
    Miko - Jennifer Hale
Sabine - Cree Summer (perfect choice, again)
    Thog - Jim Cummings
Demon Cockroach - Jack Roth (doing his Jan Jansen/Oswald Fiddlebender voice from BG/IWD2)

Nah, nah, nah. Roaches need an extremely high-pitched voice. Bottom line: Eric Idle or Mario Cantone.

And Xykon? I don't know, but we'll need a synthetized 'evil demon emperor' voice. I still think it should be Paul Bandey...

I've only got a few 'must be' voices, I'm open to the rest:

    : Wallace Shawn

: Someone who can do Marvin the Martian's voice, but slightly more serious and enunciated

    : Billy Connolly

There are many good suggestions I figured since we've done this before, let's take a new twist; I chose famous people who have done cartoon voices before.

    - Tone Loc ( Goanna from Fern Gully)
    - Holly Hunter ( Elastigirl from the Incredibles)
    - Danny Devito ( Phil from Hercules)
    - Billy Connerly (Ben from Pocahontas)
    - Ellen DeGeneres (Dori from Finding Nemo)
/- Mel Gibson (John Smith from Pocahontas)
    - Anjelina Jolie ( Lola from Sharks Tale)
    - Patrick Warburtun (Kronk from Emperorís New Groove)
    - James Woods (Hades from Hercules)
    - David Ogden Stiers ( Ratcliffe rather than Cogsworth)
    - Robbie Benson ( Beast from Beauty & the Beast)
    - Dave Thomas & Rick Moranis ( the Moose from Brother Bear)
