Default What type of Conjuration spell would I need? (3.5) DMing

I was thinking of creating a group of Marines (Fighters and Paladins)
who act as cavalry. Historically Marines were all foot soldiers rather than cavalry but only because horses were so difficult to transport.(They turned into nervous wrecks on long voyages)

But having a Spellcaster summon the mounts post landing, would make having trained cavalrymen a viable option as they won't have to wait for said mounts to calm down from the voyage. Of course senior Paladins don't have this problem.

Summon Monster/Nature's Ally don't last anywhere near long enough. The first level Wizard spell Mount is inadequate as it must be trained and equipped for war.

So what sort of Conjuration spell would be viable for the purpose of summoning warmounts? Anything in various splatbooks that I don't have? Or do I need to start Homebrewing?

    Teleport might work.

However, while it might be a little creepy, you could also consider Undead horses. Long lasting and completely fearless. Animate dead to make a skeletal horse (rotting zombie horses on a ship would be a bad idea).

Phantom Steed could also work, and Phantom Steeds rock. The Ethereal Mount spell conjures multiple Phantom steeds (though they might only work on the ethereal plane... though it never specifies that).

Yea, Ethereal Mount from SPC. One horse +1/2CL, they're fast, and at 10th level they can run on water. A focused specialist Conjuerer10 (10th to get the water walking), if he uses his higher-level slots as well, can summon 66 horses over the course of about 2 hours, each horse lasting 10 hours. Supply him with rods of extend spell and they last all day. At minimum level, he can summon 16 horses over 40 minutes.
Proudly without a signature for 5 years. Wait... crap.

    How does this work?
Common sense is not so common.

You can always prepare a lower level spell into an higher level slot. Say... a lvl2 spell in a lvl3 slot.

Of course if you're doing so, you better off applying some metamagics as well...
