I'm of the understanding that temporary HPs don't stack. So what about the barbarian power Macetail's Rage? Does the rage effect increase your temp HP total with every hit or does it just keep setting it back to your strength modifier?

It keeps setting it to your str mod. It'd have to specifically say it stacks, like Fighter's Invigorating keyword does, to actually stack.
