4E oddities (probably rhetorical)

Terror Ichor is a reagent that increases the power of fear effects.

It's made from pixie blood.

That's the only mention of pixies in the entire Compendium.

In particular, there are no pixie *creatures*. Not even in the flavor text of some spell or effect. Just this one (well, 3, for different grades) mention of pixie blood.

So where does pixie blood come from?

You're right, it just means that they're in some kind of horrible existence, drained of the ability to fight and unable to escape. Why? so that jerks can harvest their blood.

Oh yeah, I put in a race of little pink creatures called "Sit Downs". They sit on things to get nutrition from it. And they smell like cinnamon. They go incorporeal when they get scared and release a scent to tell others to hide too. If someone attacks one it dies.

That's all I wrote about them. And the players loved the little guys.

Not any more. They went extinct shortly after the Frobozz Magic Reagent Company started selling terror ichor.

I'm certain they'll be in a future monster manual... as an aside, they are mentioned in the Feywild section of the Manual of the Planes, but only for flavor's sake and no real mechanics.
