And is it just me, or are there a lot of Playgrounders who seem to think that "pet" means the same thing as "girlfriend"?

Only girlfriend if its on equal terms more or less. I was thinking something (someone) to be owned when we got the option to pick from the list of monsters.

You mean you didn't see the monster entry in the 3.0 sourcebook "Paranormal Primates"? It's right up there with the Fiendish Macaque and Vampiric Bonobo.

Frankly the only bad thing about the book it that it was the worst example of pre 3.5ed power creep around. The half-gorilla template was just ridiculously OP.

Don't be silly. LoM was 3.5 if I remember correctly. PP was 3.0, like ELH, so would use the ELH template.
